NORTH LIBERTY By Gladys Sheneman About 185 Retired Neighbors and Friends met Tuesday at the Pine Creek Church for another bountiful dinner together prepared by the ladies of the church. Gladys Sheneman. president, presided at the meeting before dinner. There were several first timers, Chuck and Florence Stewart, of Walkerton, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hawley, of Bremen, Vern ice Spaid, of Plymouth, and Barb Zimmerle, of North Liberty. Several were celebrating birthdays in May and Orville and Marian Buss, of Bremen, will be celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary along with the Richard Saville’s, of Lakeville, who will be celebrating their 50th anniversary. Esther Smith, who always attends is in intensive care in Memorial Hospital and Anna Lou Houser is in LaPorte Hospital after undergoing surgery. Evelyn Dolph read the secretary report after which the president had them guess “What is It?" It was a laugh and it is the best of all medicines, the whole world needs it and we can always use it. dinner all went to the sanctuary where the Plymouth Purdue Extension Chorus of Marshall County entertained and they were great. Charles and Joyce Richmond and Naoma Prickett spent the weekend in Geveiand, Ohio. On Saturday they attended the wedding of Joyce’s brother, Larry Prickett, and the reception. They returned home on Sunday. Just a note to let you friends in Walkerton that Alta Andrews, who lived in the Hiatt Apartments and is now living with her daughter and husband in LaPorte, was doing quite well when I visited her Saturday afternoon. I’m sure she would love to hear from her friends in and around Walkerton. Her address is 3005 Monroe Street, LaPorte, IN 46350. Visitors Saturday evening of Gene and Norma Patrick were Ron and Sherri Teter, of New Mexico, and Kenneth and Ronda Teter, of South Bend. Ron and Ken are first cousins of Norma. Ruth Black returned to her home in Florida after spending the past week with her daughter, Pam Craft and family. On Wednesday Pam drove to Terre Haute and met her daughter, Emily, where she attends college and brought her home with her for the summer. Kory Lentine, a member of the Church of Christ, was ordained into the ministery Sunday evening at the church. A large crowd attended with many coming from the South Side Church, where Kory is youth minister. He graduated Sunday from Bethel College. We all wish him well as a minister of the gospel. If you are a nature lover you will want to see what all has been accomplished since starting this outdoor lab. Enjoy a wagon pulled tour with students narrating. Also visit the bulletin board display of lab history. Tim Cordell, Potato Creek Naturalist, will identify trees for you. It will be a day to remember, so plan now to enjoy the afternoon. Word was received Esther Smith who had been a patient in the hospital was moved over the weekend to Healthwin. Please remember her as she needs our prayers. George and Wilda Henry spent the weekend with their son, Brian Henry and family in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Calvin and Gara Mae Kronk and Ed Podgodzinski were supper guests of Gladys Sheneman on Wednesday evening. What a beautiful weekend, the leaves are coming out on the trees, the tulips are beautiful, the grass is green, some are making garden and setting out their flowers and garden vegetables. Martha McCrosky, Gladys Lavarans, Iva Pommert and Gladys Sheneman all enjoyed the movie on spring flowers and birds at the Nature centet at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon. Members of the Naragon family were recent Sunday dinner guests of Dean and Esther Shoue. Guest of honor were Pat and Cindy (Geesaman) Voight and daughters Amanda and Vanessa, of Crawley Lake, California. They also visited Cindy’s grandfather Raymond Naragon and grandmother Dorothy Naragon. Travis and Joan Holmes returned home Sunday night after spending the few days in Las Vegas with Joan's brother, Frank, Jr. and his wife, Mary, from Monette, Missouri. They visited the Hoover Dam and saw many other interesting places while touring the area as there is so much to see and do. Calvin and Gara Mae Kronk called on her sister Sunday afternoon in North Webster, Ruby McElhaney and Myrtle Howenstine. Their brother, Paul, from California, was to come for a visit

A high school chorus from Hartville, Ohio, will be singing at the Mennonite Church on Saturday evening, May 13th, at 7:00 p.m. You are welcome.
