Jerry Freese. ( Mrs. Evelyn Lappin and Gwen Heimer of North Liberty accompanied 19 other ladies from the Walkerton Pentecostal Church on Friday and Saturday to Indianapolis where they attended the State Ladies Convention. Mrs. Heimer is new in our town as they purchased the Ray Schicber home, corner of Williams and Center Streets. So we welcome them to our friendly town. Have any of you readers driven over to the little country church between LaPorte and Michigan City on Johnson Road to see the oily substance seeping from the icon of Jesus Christ which began on April 2nd? It was carved in Greece about 100 years ago from olive wood. Thousands of people have already visited the church to see it and 1 have one report from a friend, Steve Lane, of South Bend, who saw it last Sunday. He said it was true and it was really amazing. Some are being annointed with the oil and say they feel so much better as 1 have said before, I believe in miracles, and I believe this is one of the signs and wonders that it tells us in the Bible that will happen in the last days. The pastor said so many young people are coming, they're seeing, they’re witnessing and to him that is a miracle. The church will continue to be open from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Please remember little Jennifer Stewart, daughter of Tim and Terri Stewart, who will undergo surgery Tuesday in St. Joseph Medical Center, as she needs our prayers and a card. What a beautiful Sunday morning after a cold windy week and as I look out my window I hear and see a beautiful paraplane flying round and round. No doubt it is Roland Sheneman or Gene Baughman as I understand he has one of those things too now and loves to fly over the countryside from Hop’s Paraplanes on Tyler Road. I sat in one once and that was enough for me. So sorry to hear of the death of Esther Shultz who worked in the office at Miller's Merry Manor for so many years and came to know so many people and love down through the years. I know she is going to be greatly missed and I am one who is going to miss her because I talked to her a lot. She was a great lady. A large crowd attended the concert by the Impacts Sunday evening at the Church of Christ and they gave a very inspiring message in song. About 30 young and old showed up Saturday morning at North Liberty Outdoor Lab site adjacent to the school parking lot to help with the work project. Mr. Long donated trees and shrubs from his evergreen farm whick many were helping to plant. Mr. Petz was putting up bird houses. They have many trails and benches to rest on to enjoy all the beauty of God’s nature. This planning has been
