most of 1994 and didn’t think he had been paid the right amount. The clerk told him that the office had checked with both judges to make sure that he was paid everything that was owed him as bailiff. Seals was told to contact Larry Dill and Judge Schlifke is he has any further questions about the pay. Seals further stated that two years ago he was told by chief Gassensmith to take ten days off, and to use accumulated time. For various reasons he felt this was done illegally and asked the council to make restitution for those days along with some days he lost when he resigned as a police officer. Attn’y Walter told the council that attorney Holmes opinion is that Seals had previously had the opportunity to bring up the incident that happened two years ago, and that he had accepted the agreement, in December, when he resigned. It was Holmes recommendation that the Town not pay Seals any more money. Gene Reese made the motion to go with attorney Holmes recommendation, and not make any further payment.
Seconded by Len Jaske. Carried. Seals made some complaints about one of our police officers, and was told that he should discuss these complaints with chief Sobieralski. Old business: President Rizek suggested that the town work with the Chamber of Commerce on a beautification project. A beginning would be to see that all downtown sidewalks are swept and litter is picked up. Walt Heil said that there is no reason why the store owners can’t keep their sidefree of snow and litter. There was some discussion about sending letters to store owners, and maybe an article in the paper urging home owners to shovel sidewalks and keep their property cleaned up. Gene Reese is going to bring this up at the next chamber of commerce meeting to see if some kind of co-operative effort can be made to start a clean up and beautification program. New business; Gene Reese made the motion to do the first reading of Ordinance No 1995-02, Weed Ordinance, in short form. Seconded by Gordon Hartsell. Carried. Gene Reese made the motion to accept the first reading. Seconded by Walt Heil. Carried. Walt Heil made the motion to allow the write off of old outstanding checks in the amount of $152.08. Seconded by Gene Reese. Carried. Gordon Hartsell announced that he and Len Jaske have set April 15 as the appreciation night for ambulance and fire personnel. Whiteman Landscaping, Plymouth, has done the maintenence on the downtown trees for the last two years for $603.75. They have quoted this same price for 1995 tree maintenence. Gene Reese made the motion to accept this quote. Seconded by Gordon Hartsell. Carried. Gaims 161 through 226 for $172,921.61 and payroll docket dated 2-15-95 for $19,166.12 were accepted on a motion by Gene Reese. Seconded by Walt Heil. Carried. Walt Heil made the motion to adjourn.
