I BTH GRADE GIRLS ROLL TO EASY I 55-9 TRIUMPH Urey Middle School’s eighth grade improved to 5-1 with an easy 55-9 dismantling of Oregon-Davis in junior high girls basketball action in the Bobcats’ den Thursday afternoon. The 55 points total set a new eighth grade girls school record for most points in a single game erasing the 50 point tally assessed against Culver in last Wednesday’s tilt. The Falcons erupted for 20 unanswered points in the initial period and never looked back. The visitors led 20-0 at the first stop and were on top 28-0 at halftime. The local gals led 42-5 heading into the final quarter of play. All ten Falcon players scored led by Beth Honaker’s game high 15 points. Jennifer Traub added 10 tallies followed by Tammy Wasteney with 8, Becca Strahm 7, Melissa Craig 4, Jessica Traub 4, Alissa Fuentes 2, Misty Whitmer 2, Jessie Ellis 2 and Lynna Potts 1. The Falcons entertain LaVille this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. as they prepare for Saturday’s Urey Tournament at North Liberty.
