This program is open to all curent Bth - 11th grade students and their parents. Course description books will be discussed, as well as Tech Prep curriculum, Core 40 (college expectations for high school courses), and scheduling high school classes in accordance with students’ career plans. There will be time allowed for questions, as well as an opportunity to schedule classes for next year, and the years remaining in the students’ high school career. WOMEN’S FEST AT CENTURY CENTER THIS SATURDAY, FEB. 17 The Women’s Fest will be held this Saturday in downtown South Bend at the Century Center from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.. This is open to women and their families. Throughout the day there will be a Health Fest, Travel Fest, Children’s Fest, exhibitor's booths, seminars and entertainment all day long. Tickets for the event are $4.00 at the door, but can be picked up in advance for $2.00 at K-Mart, Target and Majerek’s Readers World. For more information, you may call Greta Claeys, (219) 234-5777.

Walkerton Church To Host Unity Service Feb. 26th The Walkerton United Methodist Church will be hosting an area Christian Unity Service on Sunday, February 26th at 3:00 p.m. Sponsors include the Walkerton Ministerial Association, North Liberty/LaVille Ministerial Association, and the Far West Cluster of the United Religious Community of Saint Joseph County. The theme of the service is “Communion In God-Life Together’’ based on John 15:1-17. Dr. James J. Fisko, Executive Secretary of URC, will be preaching. Area pastors will provide leadership as well. Dr. Donald C. Lacy, host pastor, will preside and a brief fellowship time will be provided by the host church following the service. The public is invited. LEGISLATIVE COFFEE TO BE CONDUCTED AT ST. JOSEPH’S HOSPITAL The first of three legislative coffees will be conducted Saturday, February 18 at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Marshall County. The session, beginning at 9:00 a.m., will feature State Rep. Gary Cook, D-Plymouth, and State Sen. Bill Alexa, D-Valparaiso. The twohour session will be held in the hospital’s cafeteria. Cook and Alexa are expected to give a brief update on legislation passing through this session of the Indiana General Assembly. They will then open the meeting up for questions from the public. The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce and St. Joseph’s Hos- । pital of Marshall County are cosponsoring the meeting. Coffee and doughnuts will be available. These meetings are open to the public. ! The next coffee is scheduled for Saturday, March 11. Both will start at 9:00 a.m. and be held at the hospital. LOCAL STUDENT NAMED TO HONORS LIST Patricia Christensen, a Saint Mary’s College senior, has been named to the academic honors list for the fall 1994 semester. She is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Carl J. Christensen of Walkerton. Saint Mary’s, one of the nation’s oldest Catholic colleges for women, offers four year courses in the liberal arts and sciences, leading to degrees of bachelor of arts, fine arts, science, business administration, nursing and music. Saint J Mary’s celebrated its 150th anniversary in 1994, the same year it was ranked number one in its category of regional liberal arts 1 colleges by the U.S. News and , World Report annual survey of American colleges and univer--1 sities.
