Juice winners were Helen Verkier and Doris DePoy. On Tuesday we just spent the day visiting. Wednesday Jessie Schaeffer had the program. Concerned about a little boy coming out of anesthesia alone in a hospital room, a nurse used the intercom to check on him. “Are you OK?” she asked. There was no answer so the nurse asked again, “Are you comfortable?” There was still no answer, so the nurse said, “I know you’re in there.” A frightened little voice came back, “What do you want me to do, God?” Uplifting sole —Said a hobo while walking the tracks into town: “When my shoes wear out, I’ll be on my feet again.” The best prayer that I’ve heard: Dear God, please help me be the person my dog thinks I am. On Thursday we just sat around and talked to one another. Any faucet can turn the water on, but after a few years only a good faucet will turn it off. The same thing applies to human tongues. On Friday we had our regular sing-a-long with Verice Walz at the piano and Virginia Anhold leading the singing. The announcements are: February 7th, Verl Haag and Florence Seekings will be here for our January and February birthday party. On February 21st, someone will be here to help senior citizens with their taxes from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at no cost.
