Church took a field trip to the Polk Township Fire Department in Tyner. Chief Ben Burger and his fellow firefighters showed the children what a fireman would look like if they came to help in an emergency situation. They also let the children spray the small fire hose usually used to put out grass fires. The auxiliary served the children milk and cookies. The children of the Preschool/ Kindergarten Room visited the Koontz Lake Fire Department. Randy Collins and Randy Savoie showed the children a video about firefighters and their equipment. When the children got restless, the video was turned off and the

children were given a tour of the fire station. Next the children got to take a short ride on one of the larger fire trucks. The children and staff members were excited after the rides! After everyone had a turn on the fire truck, the children each got to hold and spray a medium-sized hose. The next day, Randy Collins come to the day care to bring the children a toy fireman's hat, badge, and stickers. Thanks to both of these local area fire departments for the wonderful learning experiences and their generousity to the children!

Thanks to our son, Hari, Jr., for all the plans and hard work and our daughter, Monica, for all her help. It was a real surprise and a lot of fun. Cindy & Hari Shafer We want to thank our God for the privilege of celebrating our golden anniversary. We will never be able to thank everyone enough for sharing this day with us. Our children for all their time, work, money and love to make it a day we will cherish forever. Our church family, classmates, REAL Service friends, relatives and all the special friends, we really appreciate the cards, gifts and the time given to us. Our grandchildren and greatgrandsons you mean so much to us. Little did I realize when we saved Mom and Dad’s cake decoration from their 50th anniversary celebration that we would be using it on our cake that Sue made for us. Thank you Mr. Ullery for making sure the Community Building was cleaned sothoroughly. We know that is your job but you went the extra mile. We could go on and on, and still miss some one but we are so happy for such a great day. It will take a while for us to come back down off cloud nine. So we just want everyone to know we do appreciate all that helped make this a day we will remember.
