NORTH LIBERTY By Gladys Sheneman I know many of you readers know Irene Bergland, who always attended our get togethers at Pine Creek Church until she had to go live with her son, Richard, in Lafayette. Later she went to live at Regency Place, 300 Windy Hill Drive, Room 120-B, Lafayette, IN 47905 A week ago she had a sale but her only son Richard was not able to attend and had to go to the hospital and passed away the next morning on October 9. He was only 49 years old so please remember Irene as she needs to hear from her friends. Received word that another friend, Welcome Norris, of Tyner, is in Plymouth Hospital in critical condition so please remember him and his family. The Potato Creek State Park was a busy place over the weekend with people driving all over the park to enjoy all the beauty of the colored leaves and looking to see some deer. Gail and Mae McDaniel and Glen and Phyllis McDaniel, of Athens, Ohio, spent the weekend with Donn and Shirley McDaniel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Pete Creamer, the evangelist, and Ed Erskin were great. lam happy to say that their were ten decisions made for Christ and may God bless them and may we all help them to grow as they put their faith and trust in the Lord. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Balsley spent the weekend in Indianapolis. They attended the 4th annual gospel quartet convention in the Murat Temple on Saturday night and went to church on Sunday morning and back home on Sunday afternoon. The trees going down and back were gorgeous, especially in Indianapolis. It was a very enjoyable weekend. Many from the North Liberty area attended the wedding reception of Carolyn (Singleton) Figg who was married to Huston Mitchell on July 7. The social room at the Pine Creek Church was beautifully decorated and all enjoyed the beautifully decorated cake, punch and nuts served. They received many cards and gifts. They are living in South Bend. So best wishes from all your many relatives and friends. Our sympathy this week goes to the Mary Jane Gordon family as she passed away on Thursday at Miller's Merry Manor, where she had been a resident for the past nine years. She was 76 years old. She leaves her husband, Keith Gordon, so please remember him in your prayers and a card. Her funeral was held at the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. She was a member of the Church of Christ and some of the ladies served them dinner. It was so nice to see his son, Bob and his wife from Westerville, Ohio, who were former members of the church. Flora Hough is improving every day since she is back in her apart-

ment. Her son, Joe, returned to his home in Texas on Monday. Our sympathy goes to Helen Neidlinger in the loss of her sister, Dorothy Zigrang on Monday, October 17. So please remember Helen.
