R.E.A.L. SERVICES NEWS WALKERTON On Monday Harold Schweder, our number one welcoming committee, took care of the books. Hazel Schweder was in charge of short stories and jokes. On the same wavelength: While visiting with my mother in a nursing home rec room, I noticed two ladies intent on watching TV. The first one tapped the other on the arm and pointing to the TV screen asked, "Isn’t that what’s his name?" The second one stared a minute and replied: "I don’t think so.” Whereupon the first leaned back and muttered, "I guess you’re right". Tuesday Helen Verkier brought in a tape of Christian music. One of the men that came with Vi Wolff made the tape and sent it to her. Wednesday Jessie Schaeffer had the program with some jokes. Teacher: "Why don’t you write more dearly?" Student: "Then you’ll realize that I can’t spell. Second joke: Father, "How did you do on your test today?” Son: "I did what Abraham did.” Father: “What was that?" Son: "1 went down in history.” Thursday we had a hearing aid presentation from Vernon Shaw that works out of a company from LaPorte. Our juice give-away winners were Elaine Leming and Ruth Ullery. Friday we had our regular sing-a-long with Verice Walz at the piano and Evadene Platz leading the singing. Dates to remember:
