Recently, a group of kids went on a shopping trip. Not an uncommon thing to do, except this time the kids were not buying video games, baseball cards or candy. In fact they didn’t buy anything for themselves. Instead, the Summer Kids Club of the First Presbyterian Church of Walkerton spent the money they raised at a recent fund raiser to buy some necessities like map. paper HESTERS CABIN BED & BREAKFAST Eri I K-. 5 ji' J Pooeotvl Night Or Woohond In Our 1830 NoMorod Log Houso (Reservations Only) 71880 St. Rd. 23, Walkerton

towels and kleenex, for the 80 families that the Community Food Pantry ministers to. The items they wanted to purchase, exceeded the amount of money they had raised, so Ray & Kenny’s Super Valu owner, Kenny Chapman, gave some products, free. "I think this is a great thing these kids are doing”, said Mr. Chapman. Presbyterian Pastor Ron Hawkins said, “This was a great way for the kids to get involved beyond just donating money. They not only worked raising the money, they had a great time buying the paper products, and separating them into 80 bags.” The gifts were then distributed through The Pantry during their normal distribution time, which is the fourth Tuesday of the month from 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m. Details about The Pantry are available by calling 586-3301.
