Living Wills And Trusts The Topic At AARP Meeting Thursday morning, August 25th at 10:00 a.m., the Marshall County Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons will be learning about Living Wills and Trusts. Mr. Ralph “Rick” Huff, of Plymouth, will be presenting the topic for discussion. All citizens over 50 are invited to attend the monthly meetings of AARP to discuss varied topics of interest to those in the now-called “Third Age Os Life”. Become involved in keeping the golden years from tarnishing. Join with your friends and neighbors in alerting local, state and national branches of our government of the concerns we carry for our families and children of the future. We are concerned about Health Reform, Safety in our homes and on our highways, and Fair Taxing of all citizens. a Safe Driving Seminar scheduled for this fall season. WALKERTON AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BOARD MEETS The Walkerton Area Chamber of Commerce board meeting. We are doing great with the Win Campaign, get those slips deposited, WIN! WIN! WIN! The Golf Outing was a great success, thanks to 51 merchants for their donations. The Board donated SIOO.OO to the Koontz Lake Association for their beach clean up fund. The Board donated $150.00 to the REAL Services, to help with their rent problems. The Board decided to sponsor a LaPorte Hospital program on Health Care, keep an eye out for time and place. This will be very informative, you won’t want to miss it. AREA SINGSPIRATION On Sunday evening, August 28, at 6:30 p.m., the Blissville Church of the Brethren, Plymouth, will host an “Area Singspiration” that will include many of the area Church of the Brethren congregations. An evening of entertainment and blessing will by yours. Following the singspiration there will be a fellowship time in the basement with cookies, juice and coffee. Tina Burgh and John Collings, of Walkerton, are the proud parents of a baby boy, Jordan Michael Burgh. He was born August 6, 1994 at Michiana Community Hospital. He weighed seven pounds, four ounces. Maternal grandparents are Faye Barker, of Walkerton, and Norvan and Jean Collings of North Liberty are the paternal grandparents. LOCAL STUDENT NAMED TO DEAN’S LIST AT BALL STATE Jessica Meuninck, 68477 Redwood Road, Walkerton, has been named to the dean’s list at Ball State University for Summer Semester 1994. Students on the dean’s list earned at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale while enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours per semester.
