The motion was approved by a seven to zero vote. 5. Approve Job Share Between Marlene Hadden and Damon Groves for the Position of Physical Education at North Liberty Elementary School for the 1994-95 School Year Janice Ryan made a motion, seconded by Robert Schaeffer, to approve the Job Share Program between Marlene Hadden and Damon Groves for the position of physical education teacher at North Liberty Elementary School for the 1994-95 School Year. The job sharing for this position will be done in accordance with School Board Policy on job sharing adopted on March 8, 1994. The motion was approved by a six to one vote with David Gensinger voting no. 6. Approve Contract Bus Driver Salaries for 1994-95 School Year Janice Ryan made a motion, seconded by Tom McCormick, to approve the following contracted bus driver salary schedule for the 1994-95 school year. The motion was approved by a seven to zero vote. The contract bus salary schedule is based on the range of miles a route covers with a daily route for 36-40 miles of $84.35; 41-45 miles $89.55; 46-50 miles $94.75; 51-55 miles $99.95. An adjustment to the daily rate to cover fluctuation in the average price of regular gasoline is built into the schedule. 7. Approve Transfer Tuition for the 1994-95 School Year A motion was made by Tom McCormick, seconded by Robert Schaeffer, to set the transfer tuition for the 1994-95 school year for kindergarten at $1,163.65, 1-6 grade at $2,327.29, 7-8 grade at $1,941.06 and grades 9-12 at $2,322.46. The motion was approved by a seven to zero vote. 8. Transfer Tuition Requests Tom McCormick made a motion second by Shirley Anderson to approve the following transfer tuition requests:
a. Joseph Hensler, 10th Grade, John Glenn High School b. Michael Hensler, 7th Grade, Urey Middle School c. Chris Levandoski, 11th Grade. John Glenn High School d. Bill Nelson, 4th Grade, North Liberty Elementary School e. Taylor Williams, 3rd Grade, North Liberty Elementary School f. Jennifer Payne, 9th Grade, John Glenn High School The motion was approved by a seven to zero vote. 9. Approve Change Orders for the Storage Room Addition to Walkerton Elementary School Change orders were presented to the School Board representing a $6,630 deduction in the cost of the project. Following explanation of the changes, Tom McCormick made a motion, seconded by Janice Ryan to approve the change orders in the amount of $6,630 in the contract with Larson-Danielson Construction Company. The motion was approved by a seven to zero vote. 10. Approve Reimbursement Resolution for Exprenses for Construction and Improvements to Urey Middle School, John Glenn High School and New Administration Office Robert Schaeffer made a motion, seconded by David Gensinger, to approve a resolution that will provide the Corporation to be reimbursed for expenses for the construction and improvement to Urey Middle School, John Glenn High School and the new administrtion office from the sale of bonds at a later date. The motion was approved by a seven to zero vote and the resolution is on file with the Board minutes. 11. Review Schematic Drawings for Urey Middle School: Kari Williams and Julie Dendinger presented a proposed schematic drawing for the renovation and addition to Urey Middle School. The architects proposed a three-story addition matching the existing school levels to the west and south of the present facility, and a single floor on the west adjacent to the gym. The projected cost for the proposed plan will be $1,021,350 for renovation and $3,344,320 for the new construciton. The total cost of the proposed including fixed and loose equipment plus some options will be $5,406,670. The School Board will have further discussions kwith the architect on the proposed klpians at the August 23, 1994 School Board meeting. 12. Discussion on Developing School Board Goals The School Board listed the following topics to be considered as goals for the Board during the 1994-95 school year: 1. Nonteaching Employee Salary Schedule Structure and Evaluation 2. Drug Testing for Employees and Students 3. Updating of School Board Policy Manual 4. Reviewing Methods of Inventorying School Equipment 5. Developmeing a Method for School Board Member Evaluation 6. Setting Student Performance Standards 7. Basing Administrative Salaries on Student Performance 8. Increase Student Scholarship Opportunities. At the next School Board meeting, the Board will determine priorities and develop strategies for achieving the goals.
