Linda Marie Van Rie. Linda is the daughter of Mrs. Patricia Van Rie of Mishawaka and the late James Van Rie. Mr. and Mrs. John
Gouker, Sr., are the parents of the groom. At 2:30 in the afternoon, the couple was married by Rev. Joseph A. Jacobs, the bride’s great-uncle. The church was decorated with sprays of pink glads, fuschia carnations, ivory mums and lace pew bows. Music for the ceremoney by organist Mike Mittleman and vocalist was Jan Boswell. The bride wore a satin gown accented in ivory lace. The dress had a sweet-heart neck and back, short puffed sleeves, a dropped waist with an ivory satin sash and a graduated hemline. Linda carried a bouqet of soft pink roses, ivory gerbers, Queen Anne’s lace and pink boulvardia. Matron of honor, Betty Ahlenius, of Bremen, wore a fuschia gown and carried a bouquet of fuschia gerbers and roses. Phil Ahlenius of Bremen was the bestman. Ushers for the ceremony were T. J. Borton and Jason Fisher, both of North Liberty. An evening reception was held at St. Jude’s Hall in South Bend. The hall was decorated with iridescent fuschia and soft pink balloons and tulle. Over 200 guests were in attendance and enjoyed delicious catering by Bob’s Country Store of North Liberty, cocktails, DJ music and dancing. After enjoying a honeymoon at the Tradewinds Resort of St. Petersburg, Florida, the couple has returned to make their happy home on their 40 acre farm at 28246 Quincey Road, North Liberty. Linda is a graduate of Mishawaka High School and is employed as a Customer Service Representative at Schindler-Richard Insurance Agency. Jerry is a graduate of North Liberty High School and is a Certified Water Operator employed as the Water Superintendent ot North Liberty. He also serves as a firefighter for Liberty Township. The honor is bestowed on full-time students who achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above. Among the students names are: Cynthia D. Wright, North Liberty; Tamara K. Cauffman, Lance C.
