Voice Os The People ‘‘Building Permits” I am writing this to express my displeasure to the manner in which building permits are handled. When I think of the requirment for needing a building permit, I think of new homes, buildings and extensive remodeling. 1 had a roof that leaked and had it replaced. To me that is a necessity, not remodeling. I still had to get a building permit. Perhaps some changes are needed in the ordinance covering permits for Walkerton. Marie Kerchaert “A New Faucet” You can get a new Delta faucet for $5.00 off at Holland Plumbing & Heating if you have a coupon from the W.I.N. Book. Or you can get $5.00 off on tire rotation and balance from Jack’s Citgo Service. There is a drawing for $50.00 cash from Allen’s Carpet Outlet. But you can only use these coupons if you have them, and the only way to have them to to buy a W.I.N. Coupon Book! Just look for the yellow sign on various businesses in the area. I hope that your pumpkins are growing fast. They need to be, if you expect to win the largest pumpkin contest in October. Verl Haag tells us that he has one growing five inches in diameter in three days. Better get talking to your pumpkins. Maybe it is just us, or are poeple driving faster and more rudely lately. It seems that many cars must not have turn signals, because they aren’t being used. Maybe we all need a refresher course on just good manners. I get a kick out of cars passing me and they end up at the same stop light as me. They may be in front of me, but they had to use the brakes a little more than I did. We’ve been attending county fairs and different festivals when | we get the chance. We see many of the some people at the majority of them as we have here for our Great Pumpkin Festival. I always have to buy salt water taffy at the fairs. Then I have all the papers to pick up. Our little momma chick produced 11 more babies. These chicks are about the size of a liter bottle cap when they hatch. All fluff, Ed Porter bought one of our turkeys to finish raising for the Legion turkey I plop later this year. I am well 1 aware of how much this guy can ! plop. He liked to roost on my car. ' He should be a natural for this i contest. The Pumpkin Festival committee is out taking ads for the placemat. ! If you are missed, give us a call. The festival is lining up very nicely. On Sunday, October 9th, a full day of musical entertainment will be presented, from Gospel to 50’s and more. There are a lot of activities planned, so keep these dates open and come and enjoy. October 7th, Bth and 9th. Sincerely, Nedra Williams Air filled rubber tube tires were developed by John B.
