~~‘ ,, '' , **E^!QHiKfsg^?^ T NORTH LIBERTY By Gladys Sheneman Sunday evening Theresa Kaley called her parents, John and Carolyn Singleton to tell them of her family’s safe trip home to St. Petersburg, Florida. Only a couple detours and one lane traffic in Georgia delayed them. Teresa, her husband Tom and sons Tyler and Todd were in North Liberty visiting for eleven days. They enjoyed the 4th of July parade and fireworks. The 4th of July parade was great this year and I would like to congratulate the winners. There were several nursery rhyme floats and they were all great, but the judges picked Little Boy Blue by R & K Enterprise as the best of the parade. Then the first place winner was the John Glenn Band and the second place winner was the Old Woman In The Shoe, by the Tri Kappa. They all did a good job, who participated, and made it a great parade. Thanks to the committee and judges. Twenty-six friends of Lavada Ichorst, of Greene Township, helped her celebrate her 79th birthday on Monday evening at Honker’s Restaurant. All had a wonderful time. So happy birthday, Lavada, from all your friends around North Mary Kay has a skin care program designed for your skin type. me celebrate my 80th birthday which will be on Wednesday, July 13. But since my son, Dennis, and friend, Joyce, of Palm Desert, California, was here visiting, they had made plans a long time ago to surprise me on Sunday, July 10. The weather was perfect and many of my relatives and friends came who I hadn’t seen for over 6 years. Dennis was so surprised too, to see all his cousins, namely Carl, Larry and Dallas Heyde and their sister, Jo Ann, all from Huntington, Chester Walter, Paul and Jim Mcßride, Jane Pittman, Dickie Sheneman, of Bremen, and Fern (Sheneman) Coldeberg, of South Bend. Even Charles and Mary Sheneman, who haven’t been very well, surprised us and came and so it was almost like a family reunion. I received many beautiful birthday cards and gifts. One thing sure, I will never forget my 80th birthday. Thanks everyone who remembered me on my birthday. God bless you. Dennis and Norma did a great job and must say I raised two great kids. Dennis left Monday for Palm Desert. We really enjoyed the past week with him and getting to know his friend, Joyce Bostian. They arrived back home safely Monday evening. Mildred Hunter recently returned from Spring, Texas, where she had been visiting her son, Bob. They spent a weekend at College
