OBITUARIES

LLOYD KASER Lloyd Melvin Kaser, 74, of 898 Queen Road, Walkerton, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, in Michiana Community Hospital, South Bend. He was born June 1, 1920, in St. Joseph County to Melvin and Nancy Ellen (Harmon) Kaser. On October 12, 1940, in St. Joseph County, he married Genova “Jo” Gensinger, who survives. Mr. Kaser retired in 1975 after 26 years as parts manager for the George F. Burnett Company, of South Bend. Also surviving are three sons, Terry and wife Joyce, of Tyner, Lynn and wife Carolyn of Churubusco, and Gail and wife Betty of Teegarden; seven grandhildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Larmon Kaser, of Walkerton, and Harold Kaser, of North Liberty. Preceding him in death were two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Kaser was a member of hte Blissville Curch of the Brethren,

Allen, 68, of 7535 East Indiana 4, died at 10:00 p.m. Thursday in the LaPorte Hospital. He was bom September 16, 1925 in Milwaukee and has resided in Walkerton for four years coming from Indianapolis. On October 30, 1953, in Highland Park, Illinois, he married Phyllis J. Cudney, who died May 21, 1970. Mr. Allen retired as a custodian after 13 years of service for Ben Davis Junior High School in Indianapolis. Surviving are his fiance, Norma Kinch, of Walkerton; two daughters, Karen Thome, of Walkerton, and Plyllis Allen Todd, of Naples, Florida; two grandchildren; five stepdaughters, LaVonna Kinch, of Jonesville, Virginia, Patti Horsea, of Mishawaka, Sue Allen, of Michigan, Linda Kidwell, of LaPorte, and Kay Armstrong, of Nashville, Tennessee; five stepsons, John Kinch, of Bossier, Lousiana, Joe Kinch, of Texas, Louis Kinch, of LaPorte, Robert Kinch, of New York, and Tim Kinch, of Cadillac, Michigan; several step-grandchild-ren; several step-great-grandchild-ren; a sister, Dorothy Cooper, of Adams, Wisconsin; and a brother, Paul George, of Friendship, Wisconsin. ed mm in death. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in Fair Cemetery, North Liberty. The Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, was in charge of arrangements. FRANK H. RIETOW Frank H. Rietow, 60, of County Roads 8780 East and 600 North, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday as the result of injuries he suffered in an auto accident on County Road 1500 North and State Road 49, Wheatfield, Indiana. He was born August 3, 1933, in Chicago. On Septtember 23, 1961, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, he married Helen Koglin, who survives. Mr. Rietow was employed as an operating engineer in Merrillville. Also surviving are a daughter, Julie DePoy, of Walkerton; three sons, James of Knox, Tom of Denver, Colorado, and John of Hamlet; and nine grandchildren. A son, Frank J., died February 19, 1994. Mr. Rietow was a member of Local 150, Operating Engineers of Merrillville and was an Army veteran. There were no services. Cremation has taken place. The Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements. IN LOVING MEMORY MEMORIES OF DAD I had a loving daddy Who was kind to all he knew.
