Hiler, Gerk-Treasurer 2tjl6 Fourth of July Program Plans For Walkerton Yes, residents of Walkerton, there will be a 4th of July celebration. Contrary to all rumors, the Friends of the Fourth are planning what will probably be the biggest celebration ever. We have received permission from the Town of Walkerton and the John Glenn School Corporation to move the festivities to the high school. We are expecting a larger carnival, since we will have more area, as well as more spectacular fireworks. There will be more news in coming weeks, however, we are arranging for entertainment on July 4 by Walkerton’s own Mike Westhues, as well as the Amarillo Stars and Kickin' Dust Goggers. The kiddie's day parade will be the Thursday before the 4th. Tri Kappa is in charge of this parade, thankfully, and we will have more news about this later. We will be having our craft show on the 4th of July. All crafters and organizations are encourged to contact one of the committee members for information regarding cost and setup. If anyone should have any questions, please contact Jean Cole at 586-3609 or Sherry White at 5862965. We look forward to seeing everyone out on the 4th. The first free clinic in the U. S. was established by Dr. Benjamin Rush in Philadelphia in 1786.
