Tri Kappa Names Outstanding 6th Grade Students Zeta Pi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc. is proud to select Jennifer Houser and Joey Stachowski as the outstanding 6th grade boy and girl from North Liberty Elementary School. Each student will receive a $50.00 savings bond and their names will be engraved on a plaque which is displayed at North Liberty Elementary. Two To Participate In Academic And Research Program Corey Ross, a sophomore and Aimee Christensen, a junior, were chosen to participate in the Summer Notre Dame Academic and Research Program. They were selected from 60 well qualified junior and senior applicants in the Northern Indiana area. They will work on research in the labs and receive methodology traning and attend field trips. Congratulations, Corey and Aimee. SENIOR CARD CLUB WINNERS The winners of the Senior Card Club last week were, euchre on Tuesday: first, Ora Smith 67; second, Martha Young 65; third, Morris Searfoss and Donna Shetland, tied with 64. The pinochle winners on Thursday were: first, Katie Capes 720; second, Martha Young 646; third, Donna Sherland 598; and fourth, Warner Cork 574.

Corey Ross Receives SI,OOO Scholarship S’ Corey Ross, a sophomore at John Glenn High School was recently granted a SIOOO scholarship from the South Bend Tribune. He was chosen in honor of those carriers who have achieved scholastic excellence, contributed to extra curricular school and community activities and excelled in newspaper route management. Corey is the son of Charles and Becky Ross of North Liberty. LONGTIME SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS RETIRING Herb and Paul Anderson are retiring as John Glenn School bus drivers at the end of this school year. Herb has transported students from Liberty Township for the past 44 years and Paul for the past 43 years. An Anderson has driven a school bus route in Liberty Township for the past 65 years as Paul took over their father's route who started driving in Liberty Township in 1929. Plaques were presented to Herb and Paul Anderson in recognition of the 87 years of dedicated service to the students and families of the school community. TWO AREA STUDENTS RECEIVE DEGREES AT PURDUE IN MAY Purdue University awarded approximately 5,000 degrees to students during four commencement ceremonies this spring. The university presented about 3,900 undergraduate degrees and about 1,100 advance degrees during ceremonies conducted at Elliott Hall of Music.
