students who excel in the academic disciplines. The Scholastic AllAmerican Collegiate Scholars must earn a 3.30 or better grade point average. Only scholars selected by a school official or other qualified sponsor are accepted. These scholars are also eligible for other awards given by the USAA. These are awards few students can ever hope to attain. Trish Bottorff, who attends Valparaiso University, was nominated for this National Award by Cynthia Russell, professor. Trish will appear in the Scholastic All-American Collegiate Directory, which is published nationally. "Recognizing and supporting our youth is more important than ever before in American history. Certainly, winners of the Scholastic All-American Collegiate Awards should be congratulated and appreciated for their dedication to excellence and achievement,” said Dr. George Stevens, Executive Director of the United States Achievement Academy. The Academy selects Scholastic All-American Collegiate Scholars upon the exclusive recommendations of professors, instructors, deans, and other qualified sponsors. Once awarded, the students may be recognized by the USAA for other honors. Trish is the daughter of Kathy' McKesson, of Walkerton. On November 30, 1925, photographs were first stransmitted from London to New York by wireless telegraph. It took 20 to 25 minutes to transmit each photograph.

When Series EE Savings Bonds are held for five years or more, yields at redemption are the average of semiannual interest rates declared during the time held, or the guaranteed minimum rate, whichever is higher. Series EE Bonds issued on or after March 1, 1993, and redeemed less than five years from issue will receive the guaranteed minimum rate of 4 percent. Interest earned on U.S. Savings Bonds is exempt from State and local income taxes. Federal income tax on the earnings may be deferred until the bonds are redeemed or reach final maturity 30 years from their issue date. Current rate information can be
