The John Glenn Golf team were the 1994 Marshall County champs. Pictured left to right are: Rocky Plummer, Landon Wiegand, Jayson Kincaid, Steve Savoie and Brian Lyle. The Falcons suffered two close defeats at the hands of Jimtown and South Bend LaSalle is last week’s action. Jimtown squeezed out a 171 to 172 victory on their home course of Bent Oak. Glenn did defeat Bremen 172 to 185. upset the 11 and 3 Glenn team 182 to 184. Glenn placed 7th out of 13 teams in the LaVille Invitational held at Sprig-O-Mint Saturday morning. Brian Lyle led the Falcons at Bent Oak with a 38 followed by Landon Wiegand's 42; Savoie and Kincaid at 46 and Hostrawser with a 47. At Elbel, without their number 1 and 4 golfers, the Falcons struggles as only Wiegand could break the 45 mark with a 41. Jayson Kincaid finished with a 47 followed by Savoie and Hostrawser at 48. T. J. Jackon saw his first varsity action as a freshmen and turned in a fine round of 50. Senior Jayson Kincaid led the team with an 86 at the LaVille Invitaitonal in what had to be the worst weather conditions the Glenn team has faced all year. Other scores for Glenn on this day were Lyle 88; Wiegand 90; Hostrawser 92 and Savoie 94. In Junior varsity action three 49's by Nathan Cripe. Chris Linback, and T. J. Jackson led the team to a 200 to 244 victory over
Jimtown for a 6 and 5 record. Jake McPhail and Jerrod Fraschetti shot 59’s for the JV. Against LaSalle Cripe again led the way with a 47 followed by Linback's 49; Fraschetti at 61; Jeremy Craig at 64 and Ryan Schmeltz at 65. The 11 and 4 Glenn varsity golf team will travel to Hamlet to challenge the Oregon-Davis Bobcats next week before gearing up for the 1994 Northeren State Conference Tournament to be played at Swan Lake Golf Course. Already having captured the Marshall County Tourney Glenn hopes to find the right combination to challenge for the Northern State Conference title. 1994 Marshall Co.
