The new bill utilizes a larger sheet of paper and is also printed on both sides of the paper, resulting in fewer pages to handle, read and file, according to Chnss Harris, spokeswoman for Sprint/ United, headquartered in Mansfield, Ohio, and serving nearly 60 percent of the counties in Ohio and Indiana. Sprint/United Telephone's bill will continue to be printed on recycled stock. Harris said the first page of the

new bill gives complete information so customers can quickly see a summary of their account. A detachable top section is designed for return with mailed payments. Subsequent pages provide more details about the current bill, including charges from different long distance companies. Each long distance company summary will begin on a new page as required by contracts with the long distance companies. Not only will Sprint/United Telephone's new bill be easier to handle and read, but the new format provides many environmental-ly-sensitive advantages. Sprint/United Telephone's new bill will reduce paper waste by using both sides of larger, recycled paper. Across the country, Sprint/ United Telephone companies in the Sprint Corporation system will be cutting annual paper usage from 1,124 tons to about 675 tons. That equates to a savings of 449 tons of paper. 1,482 cubic yards of landfill space, 1,796 tons of wood, 449,000 kilowatt-hours of power and more than 12.1 million gallons of water. “We’re pleased to introduce this new, improved telephone bill for

our customers that not only give them what they’ve requested, but is environmentally sound as well," Harris said.
