"Whosoever will, may come.” “THE IMPACTS” TO APPEAR AT NORTH LIBERTY CHURCH OF CHRIST "The Impacts”, of Louisville, Kentucky, a name with far reaching roots in southern gospel music, will appear in concert on Sunday, April 17, at 7:00 p.m. at the North Liberty Church of Christ. The mention of trhe group’s name stirs the memories of gospel music fans everywhere. Throughout the 70’s, the Impacts were known as the trendsetters in gospel music. Because of their reputation and acceptance in gospel music, it came as quite a shock to the entire industry when, in the late 70’s, the group disbanded to pursue other musical interests. The summer of 1992 saw excitement build again as word spread that the group had reformed and for the first time in over a decade there would be an "Impacts” on the road. The Impacts of the 90’s are well on their way to achieveing the stature their predecessors enjoyed. In the reogranized group's inaugural year, they have been blessed even behind their wildest hopes and expectations. They have recorded two projects, their first radio single, "Ain’t What I Wanna Be”, reached the national top 50 charts; and the group was nominated in the top 10 for four categories in the prestigious "Gospel Voice" Diamond Awards. The Impacts are very serious about presenting a program that is appropriate for the situation, and always what God would have done. While working in a variety of venues, high schools, civic centers, concert halls, etc., the majority of their work is done in churches. Their intention is for every service to please the croWd, and more importantly, the Lord. So for a time of encouragement, entertainment and inspiration, enjoy the ministry of the Impacts.
