The residents of Miller’s Merry Manor was really surprised Tuesday at noon as they were getting ready to eat their dinner. The Easter Bunny came hopping in to wish them all a happy Easter while Gladys Sheneman played Easter music. After talking to all in the dining room, he went hopping down the halls and visited all who were in their rooms and were they ever surprised. Their eyes lit up and many smiled and asked him if he was going to bring them something for Easter, and so he left wishing all a happy Easter. A big thanks goes to Wilda, the choir, cast and crew for all their work on this special Easter service. Our sympathy this week goes to Flora Hough and her family in the loss of her son, Harly Hough, Sr. He was 73 and leaves his mother, his wife, two sons and six grandchildren and six great-grandchild-ren, two sisters and a brother. He will be buried on Friday.
Orville and Neva Klinedinst just returned home Sunday evening after spending a few days with their grandson, Mike and his wife, Carrie, in Whitehouse, Tennessee. Whitehouse is a suburb of Nashville. Two friends were robbed of their purses about 2:00 p.m. last Saturday in the parking lot of the Montgomery Ward store at Scottsdale Mall. A man with a gun opened the passenger door and demanded their purses. Their purses, without the money, were recovered Sunday in the trash outside the McDonald's Restaurant on Lincolnway East. Many people were robbed in South Bend over the weekend, so please be very careful when you go shopping. Just got word that another relative got robbed as she was getting in her car at Osco Drug store in South Bend. Now I sure don't like to hear this kind of news, so look out for strangers. (I've just heard they caught the guy that robbed the girls at Scottsdale Mall.) Mary Black of the Hillside Apartments just returned home after spending the past three weeks visiting her sister-in-law, Ruth Black in Sebring, Florida. over the park. Sure didn't take them long to find them either. They had colored 96 dozen and had lots of trophy eggs. The Easter Bunny came hopping in the park and that really thrilled the little kids. After the hunt was over they were invited to go to the post where they were served hot dogs, chips and a drink. They served about 200. Thanks for a day to be remembered by the children who attended as it was a perfect day.
