We are hoping that the April 9th Fry will be much better attended. The Fry opens at 4:00 p.m. and will last until 8:00 p.m. The food is good and the portions are generous. Come join us and help our students to further their education. There is nothing better that we can do for them than to help them prepare for their future. TRIP TO HOLY LAND To several Walkerton-North Liberty area people, the events of Holy Week will take on a new meaning this year. Mary and Christina Bierly, Bill Jimerson, Linda Craft, Linda Klinedinst and Leah Pickavet (who flew in from Florida to go), of Walkerton, and Carolone Shupert, of North Liberty, were among the more than 900 Hoosier Pilgrims who followed their Bishop to the place some refer to as "the Fifth Gospel” for the lessons it has to teach the followers of Christ — The Holy Land. It was one of the largest pilgrimage groups ever and it started out with the first-ever non stop flight from Indianapolis to Tel Aviv on January 31 through February 10. Before taking off from the airport, Bishop White called the travelers to prayer asking that God might use the event of the tour to "change forever the hearts of those about to venture in the land where Jesus lived and taught." Our hotel in Tiberias was on the beautiful Sea of Galilee. Two boatloads of Pilgrms docked together in the Sea and Bishop White led morning devotions. We visited so many places it would take hours to write it all down. The pictures and slides we took will be constant reminders that we really did see such places as the Capernaum Temple ruins. Caesarea, where the amphitheatre has been restored and the acoustics are perfect without amplification. We also saw part of a Roman Aqueduct, Qumran, where the shepherd boy found the latest Dead Sea Scrolls, Tabgha, the traditional site where Jesus fed the five thousand, the Jordan River, where some Pilgrims were rebaptized, Nazareth. Bethany, and of course. Bethlehem. In Jerusalem, we saw the Temple Mount, the Western Wall, the Mt. of Olives, Lazarus' Tomb. Gethsemane, Via Delorosa (where Jesus carried His cross), Golgotha, and the Garden of the Tomb where approximately 500 of us had Communion led by Bishop White. It truly was the "Trip of a Lifetime" and 1 am very thankful that I was able to be a part of this Pilgrimage — "To walk where Jesus walked and felt Him close to me."
