J.G. Kindergarten Roundup Set For Thurs., March 31 The John Glenn School Corporation Roundups are set as follows: North Liberty, March 31, 7:00 p.m., at the North Liberty Elemtary School. Walkerton Elementary, March 31, 7:00 p.m., at the Walkerton Elementary School. It is very important that all parents of children who will be five (5) on or before June Ist attend this meeting. The school asks the children not to attend this meeting. During the orientation night parents will: • Complete registration forms. • Have birth certificate (from county health department) checked. • Sign up for a kindergarten screening: North Liberty — April 26, 27 Walkerton — April 19, 21 • Receive dental and health information and forms • Meet other parents to discuss car pools • Receive a kindergarten handbook • Receive an explanation of our kindergarten programs. A legal birth certificate is required. This can be obtained from the county health department in which you child was born. Driver’s Education Enrollment For J. G. School Corp. Enrollment for the Driver Education Program at John Glenn High School will be until April 25. The payment of $152.00 for the John Glenn School Corp, students may be made at the High School office. The Summer Driver Education schedule for the classroom starts June Bat 8:00 a.m. Driver Education permits will be issued at the High School on May 5 for John Glenn High School students, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. For more information on the program contact Larry Taylor at John Glenn High School. ÜBERRTY TWP. 4-H ENROLLMENT APRIL 13 Liberty Township 4-H Enrollment will be Wednesday, April 13th at 7:00 p.m. at the North Liberty School Cafeteria. This will be an organization meeting for the coming year. Clover Buds ages 3 to 7 years and Mini 4-H ages 8 to 9 years, will be offered this year, besided regular 4-H from 10 to 18. Drama Club To Present “Arsenic And Old Lace” A theater classic will grace the John Glenn stage on Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9, as the drama club presents the comedy “Arsenic And Old Lace” by Joseph Kesselring. Curtain time will be 7:30 each night and admission is $3.00. Preschoolers are free. This play will keep you laughing as you witness the hilarious events surrounding a typical evening at the Brewster house. Abby and Martha Brewster have been performing their favorite charity by poisoning lonely men. If that ’s not bad enough, Uncle Teddy thinks he’s the President of the U.S., while Jonathan, an escaped murderer, returns home looking like a movie monster. Through it all, nephew Mortimer must try and keep the family in one piece and out of an insane asylum I There are too many more things going on to mention, so just come to the John Glenn auditorium and get ready to laugh away an evening. You’ll be glad you didl WSBT-TV To Carry Cary NFL NSC Games Next Fall James D. Freeman, president and general manager of the WSBT Stations, and Lana Corbi, vice president of Affiliate Relations for the FOX Broadcasting Company, announced on March 22 CBS Affiliate WSBT-TV, Channel 22 has signed a letter of intent to carry the National Football Conference (NFO games beginning August, 1994. Freeman said that negotiations had been ongoing since FOX won the NFC television rights from CBS in a much-reported bidding war in 1993. The South Bend/Elkhart market is the largest without a FOX affiliate station, a circumstance that allowed WSBT-TV to pursue the agreement with FOX. The NFC schedule consists of 35 games, including pre-season, regular season and post-season playoff games, as well as a weekly onehour pre-game' show. Featured with be Central Division Midwest Teams, the Chicago Bears, the Detroit Lions, the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings. “Our viewers have turned to Channel 22 since the 1950's for NFC games,” Freeman said, “and , we couldn’t let them down. J.G. Schools Set Schedule Os Make-Up Days The 1993-94 school calendar is being adjusted to make up the three days that have been missed this year. Students will now attend school on Thursday and Friday, June 2 and 3, and on Monday, June 6. Seniors will not attend school on June 6. Teachers Record Day will be on June 7. Summer School classes are now scheduled for June 10 through July 8, with no classes to be held on July 4. Driver Education classes will start on Wednesday, June 8.

Good Friday Service Set For North Liberty The North Liberty/LaVille Good Friday Community Service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church on Friday, April 1, at 7:00 p.m. St. John's Lutheran Church is located at the comer of Riley and Pine Roads. The guest speaker will be Rev. Fred Stayton, of the North Liberty United Methodist Church. A good will offering will betaken. You are invited to attend this service. J. G. Band To Hold Annual Spring Raffle Members of the John Glenn Instrumental Music Department have begun their annual spring raffle, sponsored by the Band Boosters. This is the fundraising activity that is specifically designed to fund the bi-annual trips the Falcon Pride takes. Some of the destinations that have been on the Falcon Pride agenda include: Cedar Point, St. Louis, Toronto, Canada, Washington, D.C. and Disney World. Possible destinations for the future include a return trip to Toronto or New York City and New Orleans. The possibilities for band travel are limitless. The educational and performance opportunities provide valuable learning experiences for all band students who participate. All band students, sixth through the twelfth grades, earn the opportunity to travel with the band by your purchase of a raffle ticket. This year the prizes are $200.00 first prize; SIOO.OO second prize; and $50.00 third prize. The drawing will be at the April 6 meeting of the John Glenn Band Boosters. Winners will be contacted by telephone or mail. Your support is greatly appreciated! IHE TOWN OF WALKERTON IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SIDEWALK FUNDS The Walkerton Town Council is accepting sidewalk applications, for work to be done this spring and summer. $5,000.00 of Local Road & Street money has been set aside for the installation of new sidewalks, on a matching funds basis. The Town will pay half the cost, and the individual must pay the other half. The matching funds program is strictly for residential sidewalks. New sidewalks, where there are none, and applications with the earliest date will be given first priority. The matching funds program does not include sidewalks up to or around homes or driveways. Applications can be filled out at the Clerk-Treasurer’s office from now through April 8, 1994. All applications will be reivewed by, and acted on by the Town Council. P.T.A.s To Hold “Meet The Candidates’’ Night The Parent-Teacher Associations from North Liberty Elementary, Walkerton Elementary and Urey Middle Schools are sponsoring a John Glenn School Corporation Board Candidates Meeting at John Glenn High School on Monday, April 18, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Persons attending will have the opportunity to ask the candidates questions and become more knowledgeable about their qualifications for serving on the School Board. Refreshments will be served by the P.T.A. following the meeting. Please plan to attend this very important meeting. The rain date will be Saturday, April 9th. LICENSE BRANCHES TO CLOSE FOR EASTER HOLIDAY Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Gilbert L. Holmes reminds motorists that license branches will be closed Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April 3 in observance of the Easter holiday. Branches will resume normal business hours Monday, April 4.
