BOBBY & NICKI Urey Chess Teams Compete In Regional Meet I 5M l zi i r Cf' 4 z'V- v f The Urey chess teams competed at the Michigan City regional chess tournament with 57 other teams on Saturday, March 5. The three Urey teams finished Sth, 6th and 7th, all qualifying for the state competition, which will be held in Terre Haute in April. The Urey C team pictured here are Eric Claywell. Jake Pletcher, Brandon Liggett and Paul Palicki finishing in Sth place overall and had the best record of any non-A team. The team had 3Vi team points and 14*/i individual points. Both Liggett and Palicki finished at 4 and 1. The Urey A team with players Shawn Alspaugh, Josh Laßosky, Ben Long and Blake Klinedinst finished in 6th place overall with 3^ team points and 12*4 individual points. Blake Klinedinst finished with a record of 4 and 1. The Urey B team finished 7th overall. The team also finished with 3V> team points and with 12 individual points. The players on the B team are Kevin Bullock, Casey Butler, Matt Gineris, Jamie Dolph and Tom Stafford. Matt Gineris finished with a 4-1 record. The teams are coached by teacher Lisa Cos. J.G. Kindergarten Roundup Set For Thurs., March 31 The John Glenn School Corporation Roundups are set as follows: North Liberty, March 31, 7:00 p.m., at the North Liberty Elemtary School. Walkerton Elementary, March 31, 7:00 p.m., at the Walkerton Elementary School. It is very important that all parents of children who will be five (5) on or before June Ist attend this meeting. The school asks the children not to attend this meeting. During the orientation night parents will: • Complete registration forms. • Have birth certificate (from county health department) checked. • Sign up for a kindergarten screening: North Liberty — April 26, 27 Walkerton — April 19, 21 • Receive dental and health information and forms • Meet other parents to discuss car pools • Receive a kindergarten handbook • Receive an esplanation of our kindergarten programs. A legal birth certificate is required. This can be obtained from the county health department in which you child was born.
