W.E.S. Lists The Reflections Program Winners The Walkerton Elementary P.T.A. sponsored their annual Reflections program. Reflections provides an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works This year's theme was “If 1 Could Give The World Gift . . This program consisted of four categories: Visual Arts. Literature. Music, and Photographs . Walkerton Elementary was fortunate enough to have Gail Suter, Walkerton Public Library, judge Literature entries and Marsha Reese, Marsha's Flowers and Gifts, judge Visual Ans entries. We thank them for their time and expertise. This year's winners are as follows: Visual Arts K-3 — Stacey Bates, first; Angela Nifong. second. 4-6 — Bret Butler, first; Lisa Kuzmicz, second. Literature K-3 — Amy. Morris, first; Jared Shepherd, second. 4-6 — Emily Batman, first; Justin Easterday, second. Music 4-6 — Brittany Morris, first. Photography K-3 — Amy Stull, first; Stephanie Drotar, second. All of these winners will advance to the State P.T.A. Contest in May. We congratulate them on a job well done. Sharon Harasewicz and Diana Domsic were co-chairpersons for this program. They wish to thank all 221 students who participated and congratulate them. Rev. Ron Hawkins New Pastor At Presbyterian Church The Congregation of the Walkerton Presbyterian Church is happy to announce the Rev. Ronald Hawkins will be serving the church on a full time basis. Rev. Hawkins, wife Linette, and children Gregory, David, Stephani and Michael will soon be moving to the parsonage. Pastor Ron grew up in the Plymouth Presbyterian Church. He is a graduate of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School graduating in 1990 He recently came from Joliet, Illinois. We are most happy to have Pastor Ron and family with us. February Sunday messages continues with Part II of the scries ‘ I he Life Os David’’. There will be an Ash W’ednesdav Service. adults. Worship Service, 10:30 am. Urey ’s Spanish Enrochment Class Spanish enrichment at Urey Middle School introduces students to a variety of activities related to the Spanish culture. They learn many things about the language. They also learn many cultural activities related to Spain. Students watch a real bullfight, sample a few Spanish foods, and create and make their own pinatas. Students Lisa Bloomer. Lori Clark and Aubrey Kronewitter display their bunny pinata before they have fun breaking it and eating the goodies they put inside. Mrs. Pam Pearish is instructor of the Urey Spanish Enrichment class.
