Thanksgiving dinner guests of Norma and Gene Patrick were his mother, Nell Patrick, of Walkerton, Skeet and Carol Buettner and son, Jimmy and Paul and Jill Richy, all of LaPorte, Chris, Tammy and Jamie Holderbaum, Greg Shoemaker and Gladys Sheneman, of North Liberty, and Kent and girlfriend, Lorie, of Indianapolis, and Philip Patrick and family. Mr. and Mrs. George Henry entertained the following at their home on Thanksgiving day. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Kronk, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kronk, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Kronk, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Limerick, Joel and Tracy, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fair, Lisa and Ryan. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Henry, Frankie and Cindy and Rev. and Mrs. Brian Henry and daughters Charity and Carrie, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, who also spent the rest of the week with the family and attended the Church of Christ on Sunday morning. Well, it’s beginning to look like Christmas in my neighborhood as many of them are busy putting lights on their houses and otner decorations. The town has their decorations up and the Chamber of Commerce is giving $50.00 for best and $25.00 second prize for the best decorated in the North Liberty area. Our sympathy goes to the family of Thelma Hay (93) who passed away at Miller’s Merry Manor on Sunday afternoon. She taught school for 33 years on North Liberty and Lakeville. No doubt many of you had her for a teacher. She leaves several nieces and nephews. Her funeral is Wednesday and she will be buried in Eastlawn Cemetery. Some of the family of the late John Haag family met Saturday evening at the home of Henry and Linda Krueger family on Mulberry Road. They met to keep their tradition of making their mother's delicious taffy and sea foam candy. Those present were Verle and Mamie Haag and grandsons Philip and Brian, Zelma Saxton, of Tyner and her son Mark and daughter,
Patty Setnor and daughter, Tina Saxton, all of Indianapolis. They all enjoyed getting together once again and making a lot of delicious candy for their Christmas. Thanksgiving dinner guests of Carl and Barb Zimmerle were their son Gary and family, of South Bend, and Lisa Gark and daughters. Harold Rust and his daughters Janet and her husband, Tom McGelland, of Greenfield, called on friends in this area last Friday. They even visited the Christmas Tree Farm to see Santa and Mrs. Gaus and eat lunch while there. It was a rainy day but many came and went out in the rain to cut their own tree. It was a busy weekend with people coming from miles who have now made it a tradition and they now bring their grandchildren and even their great-grandchild-ren. They all look forward to getting a tree and then enjoying the fellowship in the social room and letting the children visit with Santa and Mrs. Gaus before returning home. Saturday evening, November 20, Carl and Barb Zimmerle, Lisa Gark and Frank and Lori Saylor, of Indianapolis, enjoyed helping Barb celebrate her 60th birthday at Kelsey’s Restaurant, in LaPorte. But she got the surprise of her life when they returned home to find the house full of relatives and friends. The house was all decorated and birthday cake and goodies were also enjoyed. Her daughters really surprised her and she will never forget her 60th birthdday. Happy birthday from all your neighbors and friends. Tim and Shirley Pearson spent Thanksgiving weekend with his mother in West Melton, Ohio. They had a nice visit with his sister and other family members. R.E.A.L. SERVICES NUTRITON PROGRAM N. L.
