Vera Krueger and her sister, Georgia Bergland and husband, Ray, to Plymouth where they enjoyed dinner together at Marrow’s Restaurant. Later they called on Bryon and Sharon Liggett in Plymouth. Lola Pavey is doing quite well after undergoing eye surgery in Warsaw last Tuesday. Aletha Croy and Gladys Sheneman called on her Sunday afternoon. Carl and Evelyn Eskridge need our prayers and a cheer up card as Evelyn is in the St. Joseph Hospital and Carl had a bad fall. Their son, James, is home from Tulsa, Oklahoma, helping care for them. Our sympathy this week goes to the Loy Shoemaker family as he passed away Thursday in his home. Many of you will remember him for doing some welding for you as he has done lots of welding for people in the area. John Six is critically ill in the Memorial Hospital, so please remember him. On Saturday, March 13, they are having their 4th annual deer drive at Potato Creek State Park. You are invited to help count deer. Someone told me they counted 122 one evening. Several young people who are John Glenn students and attend the Church of Christ participated in the District Solo and Ensemble Contest held at Penn High School recently. The following received recognition: Jerry and Tara Berringer, Beth Honaker. Tracy Limerick, Lisa Fair, Beth Arnett, Susan Napier, Minday Steele, Benji Woolet and Jennifer McCormick. They all
displayed their talent Sunday evening by taking part in the service at the Church of Christ. They are to be complimented as they were all great. Sandy and Wayne Tumbleson and Denny and Sue Lemert have just returned from a two week trip to Florida. The first week was spent in Kissimmee, seeing the many attractions. Then they visited Shirley and Bill Limerick, in Sebring. Also they visited Harold and Sarah Kaser, Bill and Ruth Bauman, and Abe and Bertie Bulla. They stopped by St. Petersburg to spend a few days with Lester O'Connor. On the way home they visited Art O'Connor, in Deckard, Tennessee. They were not very happy to see the snow when they arrived home. CHAMBER TO MEET FOR “BREAKFAST’’ The North Liberty Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a general meeting on Tuesday, March 16, at 7:00 p.m. at the North Liberty Church of Christ. This evening meeting will be a “Breakfast" meeting of sorts as a great breakfast will be served. Have you ever considered opening a Bed & Breakfast Inn? If so, this meeting is just for you! A representative of the Indiana Bed & Breakfast Association, Inc., will be making a presentation and answering questions. As a special feature the breakfast will be served. For reservations, please call Ist Source Bank, North Liberty, by March 10. The cost is $3.85 per person. NORTH LIBERTY AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEET The North Liberty Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meeting was held on Tuesday, February 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the North Liberty Community Building. The board reviewed several different versions of designs for a new logo for the Chamber. A subcommittee was formed tc research the different styles of banners that are available for placement on downtown streets. A report of the findings will be made at the next meeting. The March Quarterly General Membership Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. The program for the evening will be presented by a member of the Indiana Bed and Breakfast Association. The program will cover the requirements for starting a Bed and Breakfast house. It was suggested that instead of the usual dinner meeting we should hold an evening breakfast to go with the theme of the program. Two dates for annual events were tentatively set: 3rd Annual Craft Show, Saturday, November 20, Annual Dinner Meeting, Tuesday, December 7. National Tourism week will be held May 2- 8 this year. The bus tours will be conducted on May 3 and 5. United Limo buses will be used again this year.
