John Glenn Schools Set Kindergarten Roundup Dates The John Glenn School Corporation Kindergarten Roundup will be held at North Liberty and Walkerton Elementary Schools on March 30 and April 1. The North Liberty Elementary School will hold their Roundup Tuesday, March 30, 7:00 p.m. at the North Liberty Elementary School. The Walkerton Elementary School will hold their Roundup on Thursday, April 1, 7:00 p.m. It is very important that all perents of children who will be five on or before June Ist attend. The school asks the children not to attend this meeting. We will be needing items to auction off. This can be anything you have around that you are not in need of anymore. Items may be donated or consigned. If you don't wish to give all of the proceeds from the item to the Church, we will take it on consignment. This means you can give a percent of the proceeds and keep the balance. We will take farm machinery, furniture, cars, appliances, lawn and garden equipment, or any other miscellaneous items. UREY WRESTLERS DO WELL IN SATURDAY MEET It was a good day for the Urey wrestlers Saturday, with some very good efforts against top competition. Special congratulations to Jake Neiswender who finished third out of 18 in the 100 pound class. Jake recorded 5 wins on the day. Tied for sth at 110 pounds were Blount and Amor. Both had two wins. Also winning twice were Miller, Klinedinst and Hiler. Winning once were Potts, Rough and Kemp. Even though the rest did not win, they competed well and were often beaten by the number one or number two wrestler in the class. A good job by both wrestlers and managers, both on the mat and off. WALKERTON METHODIST NURSERY SHCOOL NOW ENORLUNG CHILDREN The Walkerton United Methodist Church Nursery School is enrolling children for the next school year. Classes are available for 3 year olds and 4 and 5 year olds. The 3 year olds meet on Tuesday and Thursdays with classes 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. The 4 and 5 year olds meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00 • 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. The tuition fee is $23.00 a month for the 3 year olds class and $30.00 per month for the 4 and 5 year old class. Children should be 3 and 4 by June Ist. There is a SIO.OO registration fee due at time of registration. FAN BUS INFORMATION FOR BOYS BASKETBALL SECTIONAL AT PLYMOUTH The fan bus for the boys basketball sectional game against Bremen on Friday, March 5 will leave North Liberty at 5:00 and John Glenn at 5:15. Game time is 6:00 p.m. The cost to ride the fan bus is SI.OO for adults and students. If the team advances, the fan bus for the boys championship game on Saturday, March 6, will leave North Liberty at 6:30 p.m. and John Glenn at 6:45 p.m. Game time on Saturday is 7:jio p.m. STUDENT NAMED TO ACADEMIC HONORS LIST Julie Beem, a Saint Mary’s College senior, has been named to the academic honors list for the fall 1992 semester. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wayne Beem, of Hamlet. Saint Mary’s, one of the nation's oldest Catholic colleges for women, offers four year courses in the liberal arts and sciences, leading to degrees so bachelor of arts, fine arts, science, business administration, nursing and music. BTH GRADE GIRLS DEFEAT OREGON-DAVIS The Urey Bth grade girls defeated Oregon-Davis on Wednesday night 33-10. Scorers were Schmeltz 11, O’Connor 7, Futa and Davidson 4, Oke 3, Dietrich and Bailey 2. UREY 7TH GRADERS LOSE TO OREGON-DAVIS The Urey 7th grade team lost to Oregon-Davis 25-17 on Wednesday night. Bridget Honaker had 7 points. Holly Legge 4, Heidi Wasteney, Share Oke and Lisa Klingerman each had 2 points.
