So much, in fact, that she has a 15page typed list of books she has read. Viola, who turned 94 last November, isn’t able to go out much, so fills her days reading the selection of books her daughter brings her from the library each week. A newspaper in Decatur wrote a feature on Viola and her favorite hobby. Viola’s niece, Nancy Chapman, who works in the John Glenn Administration Building in Walkerton, sent a copy of the article to Mrs. Amy Weiss at North Liberty Elementary. The students in her

reading class were verv impressed with Viola's love for reading and decided to tell her so. In their letters, they described their school life, the latest books they's read, and their own hobbies. To their surprise, Mrs. Query responded to every single students, and the teacher, too! She sent a photo of herself from her 94th birthday party, which showed her to be a very beautiful young lady! As Valentine’s Day was just around the corner, the students made Valentines cards and wrote new letters and mailed them off. This time, the students assured here that they would enjoy a group response, she didn’t have to write to each one individually. Well, Valentine’s week arrived, and on Wednesday, so did a huge Valentine package from Decatur, Illinois! The students found another beautiful letter addressing each student individually inside of a lovely Valentine card. The excitement could hardly be contained, though, to find out what the big box held. Finally, it was time to open it. Viola had sent her reading friends a gigantic box of Valentine candy. Each one enjoyed munching on the delicious chocolate covered, strawberry hearts, as they wrote thank you's and the latest news to Mrs. Query. They enclosed a picture of the group with lots of smilesl. Os course, they are anxiously awaiting her reply.
