W UKERTON the North Liberty—Walkerton Honda Reunion was held February 9 at the Sebring Elks Club with 130 tn attendance A dehcK>us roast beef and baked chicken buffet was sen ed at noon Rev Allen Balsley gave the invocation Mr and Mrs. Arthur Schmeltz and Mr. and Mrs. Warner Clark were host. Prizes were awarded to Mr. Joe Steer, oldest present; Mrs. Man (Gary) Clark, youngest; Robert Darc, greatest distance; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Snyder, married longest; and Dallas Springman's birthday was the very day. The 1994 reunion is planned for February 8 at the Elks in Sebring with visiting at 11:00 o'clock and dinner at 12:00 noon. Mrs. Eugene Kerchaert and Lowell Hartsell have volunteered to be host and hostess for 1994. Goldie Matz, of Walkerton, is a patient in Holy Cross Parkview Hospital, Plymouth. Goldie is in Room 224. Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Pavey and Shirley Hazel and Bob Urbin traveled to Rochester to meet Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ball for dinner at Margarita's. The Balls are former Walkerton residents and the men were all classmates in high school. A very enjoyable evening was again the result. BABY SHOWER Sunday, February 14, at 2:00 p.m., a special Valentine’s Day Baby Shower was given for expectant parents, Tonya Locke and John Fry. The couple received many wonderful gifts to help them get ready for their precious little baby due to arrive February 26. The shower was hosted by Lora Goforth, Linda Fry, Nancy Fry and Mary Emigh, who also opened her beautiful home for this shower. There were 15 family and friends present, four children of which one was the big sister, Mindy, who is ven excited about the baby. She

The door prizes were won by Tammy Domimack and Donna Reed. Cake, ice cream, punch, snacks, nuts, mints, coffee and cookies were served and enjoyed by all. Church Os Christ Nursery School Open House Set The North Liberty Church of Christ Nursery School will be having an open house on Monday, March Bth from 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. They will be taking registration for the 1993-94 school year. The school offers classes for children ages 3-5 years. They have to be 3 by June 1 to be eligible for the 3-year old class and 4 by June 1 to be eligible for the 4-5-year old class. The 3-year old class session meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. You have a choice of two different class sessions for the 4-5-year olds. A morning class which meets on Monday and Wednesdays 9:00 - 11:30 or Tuesday and Thursday afternoon class which meets 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. There is also an extended class session for the 4-5-year olds on Friday mornings 9:00 - 11:30. A SIO.OO enrollment fee is due at the time of registration. If you would like more information regarding the school or enrollment please call 656-4632. We would be happy to answer your questions. JOHNSON TWP. PRAIRIE FARMERS 4-H’ew TO MEET TONIGHT Johnson Twp. Prairie Farmers 4-H Club will have their first meeting tonight, Thursday, at 7:00 p.m. at the Johnson Twp. Community Building. If you will be 10 years old any time this year, you may join 4-H.
RECYCLING IN NORTH LIBERTY FEBRUARY 18 8 19 The North Liberty Recycling Committee is happy to announce that we will now be able to accept several new items at our monthly recycling dates. The next recycling dates are Thursday, Feb. 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 19, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the North Liberty Community Building. Items can only be accepted at these times, do not try to bring them earlier or on different dates. We have been having this happen too often and the items can only be put into the trash. If there are no volunteers at the site, we are not open. Items we are collecting are: STYROFOAM: We will be able to accept styrofoam food containers, egg cartons, cups, plates and foam packing peanuts and shells. These items must be well cleaned and flattened or stacked. We ask that you please bag all styrofoam items together. MIXED PAPER: This area includes junk mail (but no window envelopes) and chipboard—cereal boxes and other food boxes. We ask that you please separate from the other paper and remove any liners. These items may be put into brown paper bags. OFFICE PAPER: We will now accept copy paper, notebook paper, computer paper, and stationery. These items must be clean, dry, and bagged or boxed separately. ALUMINUM: Cans should be rinsed clean and smashed. Scrap aluminum such as foil and pie pans should be rinsed clean and folded up. Other scrap aluminum such as lawn chair and screen door frames should be broken down and have all screws and screens removed. The cans must be kept separate from all the scrap. NEWSPAPER: These must be dean and dry and put into brown paper bags or cardboard boxes. No magazines, glossy ads, or phone books can be taken. CORRUGATED CARDBOARD: These must be clean, dry and unwaxed. Please remove all staples and tape and fold them flat. GLASS: We can accept only unbroken glass jars — no window glass, light bulbs or dishware. Please rinse clean with warm soapy water and remove all caps and rings. We accept dear, brown and green glass. Please separate these by colors. PLASTICS: We can only accept milk jugs, soda bottles, laundry detergent and fabric softener bottles. Rease remove the lids, wash with warm water and crush flat. We can only accept the items above —we can no longer accept other plastic items even though the code numbers arc similar on the bottom. We ask that you please comply with these rules that have been requested of the committee. FOOD CANS: This category includes tin and steel cans. Rease wash clean, partically cut out the top and bottom, fold lids into can and smash flat. Rease leave lids partially attached to the can. We cannot accept scrap metal.

DePauw's Winter Term, which enables undergradutate students to learn about various careers and pursue learning experiences outside the conventional classroom environment. Students arrange their own internships and are under the supervision of a DePauw faculty member. The program is designed to introduce students to a wide range of career or study possibilities. Craft is serving an internship as a music/business intern with New Rising Star Music Publishers, Atlanta, Georgia. A 1991 graduate of John Glenn High School, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Craft, of 201 S. Williams Street, North Liberty. He is majoring in music/ business at DePauw.
