VOICE OF THE PEOPLE "Controversy" Controversy, the word that sets the blood and mouth in motion. First we have a letter written by an outsider (lawyer), sent under the signature of the Town Board president to all the erring EMTs. That letter is then sent to the local paper for all of the community to read. In the next issue of the paper there are many more letters to read. I love it! All of the area newspapers love it. More problems in Walkerton to read about! Is there such a long wating line to work full time as EMTs that these people who have served so loyally in the past, would have no value or use as scheduled part timers? Couldn’t this problem have been settled in a conference? It seems that there are more pressing problems, such as getting the stop light back on 23 South and U.S. 6. Also what is the town policy regarding van and large truck parking on Roosevelt Road? A vehicle usually has to pull way on on to U.S. 6 before the driver can see around the vehicles parked on Roosevelt. Happy news there is, G’s Dockside opens this Thursday, under new ownership. It isn’t that we are happy to see Wayne and Mary Ann go, we are happy to see that they were able to get a buyer to keep the business going. Good luck on your retirement! Also the Cottage Restaurant is rapidly rising and we will have another business revived. I understand that a Sporting Goods Store is being started on main street where Budd's Bargain Barn was located. Great! I hear that there will be raspberry pie at Wanda’s this week. It’s about time! Maybe the town, county and post office should set down and talk about the variences in street numbering. More controversy!
