Just have to tell you that 1 received a call Friday night at 10:30 from Fred Carlson, of Atlanta, Georgia, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Carlson. He told me how he looks forward every week to reading my news as he gets the Independent-News way down there in Georgia. lam finding out that paper really gets around. 1 remember him from coming in Harvey's Dime Store and he remembered about our park on State Road 4 in the Potato Creek State Park area and how the kids loved to play minature golf and do all the other things we had for kids to do while attending reunions. He also remembered our big auction in October of 1969 when we sold all our park and chicken equipment. He was a teenager then. Well, he made my day reliving all those fond memories. Thanks, Fred Tom and Tish McCormick went to Indianapolis on Friday. Sure did hate to hear the news about the Sears Store closing some of its stores and even the catalog department. My, how we use to look forward to the spring and fall catalog coming in the mail. Some called it the “wish book." I can remember when my folks made use of it out in the outhouse too. How about you? My grand mother Thayer did all her shopping out of the Sears and Montgomery Ward catalogs. I miss the store downtown South Bend as 1 shopped
