OBITUARIES
CALADONIA ANDERSON Caladonia Anderson, 70, who had been living with her daughter in Three Oaks, Michigan, died on Tuesday at the Berrien General Hospital, Berrien Springs, Michigan. She was born July 9, 1922, and was a former resident of the Walkerton area. On May 18, 1941, as Caladonia Wilkerson, she married Milton Anderson, who died in 1976. The Andersons were former owners and managers of Liberty Lanes in North Liberty and the Three Oaks Lanes, in Three Oaks, Michigan. Surviving are two daughters, Charlene Whitaker, of Three Oaks; and Patricia Kerckhove, of Walkerton; two sons, Michael Anderson, St. Joseph, Michigan; and Larry Anderson, Rogers, Arkansas; and nine grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Friday, September 11, at the Conley-Noble Funeral Home, Three Oaks, Michigan. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until services Friday, Michigan time. Cremation will follow with burial in Rogers Cemetery, Rogers, Arkansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association. JOHN P. SCHOLER John P. Scholer, 76, of Walkerton Trail, Walkerton, died at 10:00 p.m. Tuesday in St. Anthony Hospital, Michigan City. He was born April 23, 1916, in Chicago and lived in Walkerton for 16 years coming from Chicago. On April 20, 1945, in Chicago, he married Gene Ryan, who died February 20, 1980. He had retired after working 25 years as a pump repariman for Standard Oil Co. and was a partner of Superior Truck Equipment Co. Surviving are a niece and two nephews. Burial was Friday in Evergreen Park, Illinois Cemetery. Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, was in charge of arrangements. VIRGINIA TRUHLER Virginia Truhler, 73, of 315 Garro St., Plymouth, formerly of Walkerton, died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, in Holy Cross Parkview Hospital, Plymouth. She was born October 14, 1918, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. On November 26, 1936, whe married Myron G. Truhler in LaCrosse, who died in 1965. Surviving are a daughter, Mildred Richey, of Panama City Beach, Florida; a son, George, of Walkerton; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Marcella Ikert, of LaCrosse; and two brothers, Bud Bartschenfeld and Bill Bartschenfeld, both of LaCrosse. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, Walkerton. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. MARIE M. HLAVACEK Marie M. Hlavacek, 101, of Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton, formerly of Grovertown, died at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the LaPorte Hospital of natural causes. She was born January 8, 1891, in North Judson and had lived in the area most of her life. On November 16, 1912, in Chicago, she married Louis Hlavacek, who died in 1970. Surviving are a daughter, Lillian Hlavacek, of Walkerton; five grandchildren; and nine great-
