E.M.S. NEWS Because of the busy months of spring and summer, there hasn’t been any monthly ambulance report for the last few months. Due to the fact some of our members have taken new jobs and some of them have had personal family problems, we haven’t been seeing very much of some of the faces we used to. In spite of this we have been able to maintain the top of the line 24 hours a day care that the people have every right to expect of us as emergency health care professionals. We have gained three new EMTs who have been a great asset to our service. We would like to welcome Allen Hildabridle, Ernie Nemeth and Greg Gootee. All three are very good and caring EMTs and ambulance drivers. They provide a very vital service to our community and they do it from their heart because they really care about the people. Their efforts are greatly increased by Walkerton dispatch persons who are the very heart of our service. Along with Walkerton’s Police Department, they are always there to assist us in any way they can and their help is always appreciated even if we don’t always take time to tell them so. And the Fire Department, what would we do without them? If a patient is trapped in a car, there isn’t much we can do until the Fire Department gets them out. With the combined efforts of all these departments in my opinion, Walkerton offers the best in emergency care and protection. We would like to thank Pearl Liberty Electric Service FARM A HOME ELECTRIC MOTOR REPAIR HEATING & REFRIGERATION WELL & PUMP SERVICE APPLIANCE REPAIR 24 Hour Emergency Service CALL 656-8888 10 24 91 92

SERVICES NEWS WALKERTON Monday Hazel Schweder gave the program and Harold took care of the books. They brought in some cucumbers for all of us. Tuesday Mr. Stuntz took us to Idaho, which is called the Wilderness State. It is covered by mountains. 30,000 Indians live there. They have Hells Canyon which is 8,000 feet down to the river. They also have a valley which has a ski jump and a hanging rock. It is known for its potatoes. Mr. Gwin brought in a nice bouquet of flowers. Thanks. Wednesday Iva Gark told us about a camping trip they took one time. Funny things happened. They set up their tents and just retired when a strom came. So they took down their tents and got in the car. Then it stopped storming so they set up ther tents again and it started to storm again. So they just decided to sleep in the car and then a mouse got in the car and ate some of the food that was available. They decided to go to motel rooms and camp there the rest of the time. Virginia Timms brought in two crosses she made and we drew numbers. Winners were Galen Rollins and Very Wathen. Thursday Mary Cable brought in some squash and pickles and some from Gayton Davis. Thanks Gayton, they were real good.
Friday we had our regular sing along with Verice Walz at the piano and Millie Daniels leading us in singing. Millie brought in some vegetables. Winners were Nora Hahn and Rose Taylor whose names were drawn. Coming up is our regular birthday party August 20th when we will celebrate all birthdays in August. R.E.A.L.
