They were married at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6 in an outdoor ceremony at the home of her father, Gary Spaid, of Winter Haven. Florida. The double ring ceremony was performed by Pastor Ralph Harris, of the First Baptist Church, Winter Haven. A buffet luncheon immediately followed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Garry Spaid, Winter Haven, and Beulah Ford, of Newburg, Missouri. The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Miller, of Rolla, Missouri. JG FOOTBALL । EQUIPMENT ISSUE DATES ’ The dates have been set for the J issue of football equipment at John Glenn High School. Football equipment will be issued by coach Drotar from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Equipment will be issued to seniors on July 22nd; juniors on July 27th; sophomores on July 29th; and freshmen on July 30th. sth & 6th Grade Football Camp Football camp for students entering the sth and 6th grades will be I held the week of August 3rd through the 6th. The camp will be run from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. daily. John Glenn High School' varsity football coach Dan Drotar will conduct the camp. Coach Drotar will give instruction in the fundamentals of football. This is a noncontact football camp open to all students who will be entering the Sth or 6th grade. The cost of the camp is $15.00 which includes camp T-shirt and awards. Students may register for the camp on the first day by bringing their camp fee to the high school. JULY 29 DEADLINE FOR JOHN GLENN CLASS REUNION July 29th is the deadline for those 1967 John Glenn graduates who are attending the 25th Class Reunion on August 1. GEORGE PFEIFFER George Pfeiffer, 96, of Griffith, Indiana, formerly of Koontz Lake, died Wednesday, July 15, in Merrillville, Indiana. He was bom October 2, 1895 to George and Minnie (Kehl) Pfeiffer in Chicago. His wife, Nellie, preceded him in death. He was retired from Operating Engineers Local 399 of Chicago. Surviving are a daughter, Marie Jerome, of Griffith; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marvel Sheffler, of Illinois. Mr. Pfeiffer was a Past Master and member of the West Englewood Home Masonic Lodge 1074 F & AM, a 50-year member; a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend; Past Patron and member of the Order of Eastern Star of Blue Island; Medinah Temple of Chicago; and a former member of the Masonic Lodge of Walkerton. Services were held Saturday, July 18, at the Kuiper Funeral Home, Highland, Indiana. Burial followed in Cedar Park Cemetery, Chicago. DIANN M. SCHAEFER Diann M. (McEndarfer) Schaefer, 42, of 1417 E. Third St., Mishawaka, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Schaefer was bom January 11, 1950, in LaPorte and lived in Mishawaka for 18 years, going there from North Liberty. As Diann McEndarfer, she married Thomas Lee Schaefer, in South Bend, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters Donna Graves, of Osceola, Tammy Voreis, of South Bend, and Brenda Richter, of Mishawaka; one son, Christon, of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania; nine grandsons; her father, Vestal McEndarfer, of Paw Paw, Michigan; four sisters, Gertrude Poort, of Azle, Texas, Joyce Smith and Marydine McEndarfer, both of Los Angeles, and Betty Hamilton, of Osceola; and eight brothers, Vestal McEndarfer, Jr., of Bandon, Oregon, Clyde McEndarfer, of Superior, Arizona, Gerald McEndarfer, of Tujunga, California, Thomas McEndarfer, of Dumont, lowa, Alan McEndarfer, of North Liberty, Larry McEndarfer, of Paw Paw, and Ronald and Donald McEndarfer, both of Comumbia, Tennessee. A daughter, Sherry England, and a granddaughter both preceded her in death. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, Walkerton with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Millhouse. Mrs. Schaefer was a member of Expanding Horizons Support Group, South Bend. The First place winner was Martha - Lambert, $1,000.00; second, Betty McCormick, $500.00; third thru sixth place winners of $250.00 each were Jordan H. Kapron, Arleta Gushwa, Tom Rzeszuski and Jeannie (no last name, of South Bend). DOROTHEA M. BRENNER A GIFT FROM GOD The love of my sister Dorothea — She was the soul of our home, Always there with a pleasant smile and a little prayer. Ere though the whole world would scorn, Her heart was a rose without a thorn. There are so many to thank for the many kindness shown to me during this time. On July 6th the paramedics and ambulance of Koontz Lake, the paramedics and ambulance of Plymouth, and Chaplain of Holy Cross Hospital, Jeff D. Nixa, who contacted the Pastor Rev. Bert Pauluhn, of St. John Lutheran Church, North Liberty. Also Dr. George Restrepo, who was in attendance at the time. Also Omni Clinic, Dr. Richard Hershberger and Dr. Tackett, and those ladies of the Omni Clinic. I want to thank Bill Elkin for taking care of the arrangements. Then also Don and Carol Knop, who came immediately to help until the ambulance arrived at my home. God bless you all.
