BLAKE MARTIN HOLLAND Blake Martin Holland, 8 weeks old, of 905 E. Altgeld, South Bend, died at 7:25 p.m. Monday, July 13, in Riley Children’s Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born May 11, 1992 in South Bend to Phillip Joseph and Barbara Leanne (Hosttetler) Holland, who survive. Also surviving is a brother, Jordan Christopher Holland, at home; paternal grandparents, Devon and Helen Holland, Route 3, Walkerton; maternal grandparents, Norman and Char Hostetler, of Walkerton; maternal great-grandmoth-er, Mrs. Elizabeth Martin, of Walkerton; and paternal greatgrandparents, Gerald and Mary Hostetler, of Rolling Prairie. Services will be held Thursday, July 16, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Walkerton, with Father Robert A. Yast and Father Eugene Kazmierczak officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Friends may call at the NusbaumElkin Funeral Home from 2:00 • 4:00 and 7:00 • 9:00 Wednesday. ARTHUR W. DONATHEN Arthur W. Donathen, 89, of Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton, died at 3:20 a.m. Sunday in the nursing home. He was born March 20, 1903, and was a lifelong area resident. He is survived by a sister, Mable Grant of Florida. Graveside services were held st 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Fair Cemetery, where burial followed. The Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. REX A. FIGG Rex A. Figg, 57, of Vandalia Street, LaPaz, formerly of North Liberty, died at 2:35 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend after an illness. He was born August 12, 1934, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. He married Carolyn J. Singleton on September 6, 1958, in North Liberty, who survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Suzanne L. Figg, at home, Gayle Liggett, of Dayton, Tennessee, Claudia Ambroziak, of Mishawaka, and two daughters from a previous marriage; three sons, Dennis A., of Scottdale, Pennsylvania, Jeff A., of North Liberty, and one son from a previous marriage; six grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Burrows, of Niles, Michigan; and two brothers, Kenneth E., of South Bend, and Leo E., of Plymouth. Mr. Figg was the auditor for Fanners & Merchants Bank, Rochester, and a member of the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, Lakeville. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Hanley & Sons Funeral Home, South Bend, were in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. MILDRED B. RUMBAUGH Mildred B. Rumbaugh, 70, of Route 2, U.S. 35 and Indiana 23, Knox, died at 10:25 p.m. Thursday in Starke Memorial Hospital after an illness. She was born April 12, 1922, in Benton Harbor, and lived most of her life in the Knox area. She married Delmer Taylor, who died in 1953. Then on July 5, 1960, in Centerville, Michigan, she married Lawrence Rumbaugh. He died March 31, 1971. Surviving are a daughter, Jean Cook, of
Hamlet; a son, Jess Taylor, of Knox; two grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Andrews, of Quincy, Illinois, Helen Hall, of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Ora Johnson, of Knox; and a brother, Harold Heistand, of Knox. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, with burial following in Round Lake Cemetery. ROBERT F. BERG Robert F. Berg, 69, of 5180 E. Old U.S. 30, Hamlet, died at 5:00 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. He was born March 25, 1923, in Starke County. He married Ruby Koch, in Hamlet, on August 10, 1963, who survives. Also surviving are two ddaughters, Tamra Johnston and Joni Berg, of Hamlet; two sons, Neil, of Koontz Lake and Robert, of Hamlet; three grandsons; three sisters, Esther Young, of Monon, Betty Zabel, of Hanna, and Phyllis Orr, of Hamlet; and four brothers, Howard, Gene and Jim, all of Hamlet, and Dick, of Walkerton. Services were held Monday at the Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Burial was in Fletcher Cemetery, where the American Legion Post of Hamlet conducted military graveside services. He had been a self-employed excavator and was a member of the Hamlet American Legion Post and a World War D U. S. Army veteran. RUTH E. ROUSH Ruth E. Roush, 77, of 1371 Pine Road, Plymouth, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born May 15,1915 in Bourbon and was a lifelong area resident. She married Howard D. Roush in Plymouth on March 19, 1932. He survives along with four daughters, Phyllis Dolph, of Plymouth, Sallie Becheri, of North Liberty, Barbara Stopper, of Lakeville, and Sharon Grady, of Braintree, Mass.; a son, Gene, of Plymouth; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Johnson, of North Liberty, and Opal Gardner, of Bourbon; and a brother, Arnold Phillips, of Bremen. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the North Liberty First Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Burial was in CenterPolk Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall County Heart Association. MILDRED V. HORECKY Mildred V. Horecky, 86, of 8032 N. Shady Dr.. Walkerton (Koontz Lake), died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, July 13, in the LaPorte Hospital. She was born November 13, 1905, in Chicago. She married Carl Horecky on March 24, 1928, in
