After listening to Indiana author Marilyn Anderson’s book "Hot Fudge Pickles”. Miss Wiwi’s third grade class at Walkerton Elementary School was curious to know how hot fudge pickles taste. Giving them a try are, left to right: Cilestia Nieubuurt, Stacy Cummins, Chris Nichols and Adam Mitschelen. Their verdict was. "not bad”.

Alfred and Michele Louderback, Jr., of Walkerton, had a daughter, Brooke Amber, bom May 19, at LaPorte Hospital. She weighed seven pounds, 11 ounces and was 21 inches long. Grandparents are Alfred and Janet Louderback, Sr., Walkerton, and Mitchel and Dolores Haloski, Grovertown. Name Top Senior Students At Oregon-Davis Kerri Blackman has been named valedictorian at Oregon-Davis High School. She is the daughter of Klyde and Kathleen Blackman, of 2061 Maumee Drive, Valparaiso. Blackman is ranked first in her class and holds a 3.86 G.P.A. She has received the Oregon-Davis Principal’s Leadership Award, English and Biology Award, was on the honor roll and selected as a delegate to Indiana Girls' State. She was a three-sport athlete with Oregon-Davis lettering in basketball, track and volleyball. She was captain of the basketball team and co-captain of the volleyball team. She was a cheerleader for four years and in the Letterman’s Club for four years, two years as officer. She was a member of the student council for three years, secretary her senior year. She also was a member of the Science Club for three years and Pep Club for four, and the National Honor Society for three years, secretary her senior year. Blackman plans to attend Purdue University and study physical therapy or a branch of the allied health profession. Kami J. Bolinger has been named salutatorian at OregonDavis High School. She is the daughter of Kim Bolinger of Hamlet and Herbert Bolinger of Plymouth. Kami has participated in Science Gub, National Honor Society, Honors Reading Seminar, Academic Team and Spell Bowl and the Gifted and Talented Art program. She plans to attend Purdue University and study veterinary medicine. Local Church Takes On A New Look "And we’ve done it without a single zoning change,” says Wilda Henry, director of Vacation Bible School at the North Liberty Church of Christ. "We’ve turned our entire site into the place where winners meet. We call it All-Star Street. That’s where all kids "Team Up With Jesus” for the greatest Vacation Bible School ever! This free daily program for students age 3 through 6th grade includes crafts, Bible classes, learning activities, music and lots of fun! Students can “Team Up With Jesus" at North Liberty Church of Christ, beginning Monday, June 8 through Friday. June 12. The fun starts at 9:00 a.m. every day.
