May festivities at St. Patrick School included an outdoor Mass. Father Gene Kaczmierczak presided. KOONTZ LAKE EXTENSION HOMEMAKERS CLUB MEETS The Koontz Lake Extension Homemakers met Monday evening at the home of Carolyn Shaffer. The club is participating in the “Adopt-A-Highway” program in Starke County and State Road 23 through Koontz Lake has been selected for clean-up. The club members planted over 150 marigolds in the large planter by the tennis courts as part of this project. June 4th is the date for the Homemaker's Fashion Show judging. Home and Family Conference at Purdue University will be held June 9-12. Starke County 4-H Fair Week is July 11-18. New for this year will be check-in for open class on Saturday excluding foods and flowers, which will be as before. Club members enjoyed delicious refreshments before adjourning. Ethelyn Young will host the June 29 meeting. New members are always welcomed. Call 586-2151 or 586-2153 for information.
