Morris and Byrdie Searfoss, of Walkerton, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, May 20. Their children will honor them on Sunday, May 17, WALKERTON Mother’s Day guests of Josephine and Claude Nowakowski were their son, Terry and daugh-ter-in-law, Elaine, granddaughter, Noelle and her fiance, Dave, granddaughter, Holly and her fiance, Frank. Everyone enjoyed a delicious smorgasbord dinner at Bennitt’s Restaurant, in Roseland, Ind. A stop over was made at the Studebaker Museum, in South Bend, before returning to Koontz Lake. The day was spent visiting and a homemade chocolate cream cheese layered cake was served. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Urbin, Dr. and Mrs. John B. Guttman, of Wakarusa, and Mrs. Bertha Urbin, of Medco Nursing Center, 2600 Morehouse, Elkhart, Ind. 46517, were Mother’s Day dinner guests of Mrs. Elizabeth Yoder, Jessica, Stephanie and Todd, in Elkhart. UREY BOYS LOSE TO LA VILLE IN TRACK The Urey boys 7th and Bth grade track team lost a dual meet to LaVille on May 5 by a score of 64-54. This dropped the team record to 3 and 3 for the season. Placing first for the Falcons were Jason Dickson in the 400; Dale Groves, long jump and 200 meters; Jason Knepp, shot put; Steve Savoie, discus; and Ed Pontius, high jump. UREY GIRLS TRACK TEAM LOSES TO LAVILLE The Urey girls 7th and Bth grade track team dropped a 65-44 decision to LaVille on May 5. Winning events for Urey were Heather Parks, in the 400; and Ojeta Oke, high jump. Second place finishers were: Kelly Tingle, hurdles; Nicole Huff, 1600; Angie Beery, long jump; Elaine Davidson, high jump; and Yvonne Schmeltz, shot put and discus. Third place finishes went to Sonya Johnson, 1600; Gail Ferency, 50 meters; Elaine Davidson, 100; Lindsay O’Connor, 800 meters; Heidi Lynn, 200; and Alesa Green, shot put.
