On Wednesday, April 29, fifth and sixth grade students at St. Patrick School participated in their first annual speech contest. Students in the two grades selected poetry to read for the annual event. Three judges rated the readings according to a ten point scale that evaluated each child’s expression, pronunciation, enunciation, gestures and poise. Judges included Sister Raphael Marie Gifford, SSJTOSF, free lance writer for the Sisters of St. Joseph, Mrs. Judy Cole, principal at St. Jude School in South Bend, and Father Daryl Rybicki, principal at Marian High
