A medical history is taken, a physical examination is performed, and a series of basic laboratory tests, such as a chest x-ray, urinalysis, and blood tests, are done. VA has long recognized that chloracne is caused by exposure to substances containing dioxin. Physicians, even dermatologists, sometimes have diffuculty in distinguishing chloracne from other more common skin disorders. Few Vietnam veterans have been diagnosed with chloracne. Compensation and Pension Service: The office within the VA’s Veterans Benefits Administration responsible for the development and implementation of policies regarding compensation and pension. The Compensation and Pension Service is responsible for drafting regulations implementing decisions made by Derwinski and

Congress regarding service-con-nection for disease or medical conditions related to Agent Orange exposure or service in Vietnam. Tenth Anniversary Planned The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund Committee is planning a celebration commemorating the Tenth Anniversary of Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Activities will begin on November 7th, 1992 and culminating on Veterans Day, November 11th, 1992. Many concerts, seminars, reunions, and a reading of the names pn the wall are planned. The committee indicates that this will be the largest gathering of Vietnam Veterans ever. HEAD INJURY SUPPORT GROUP TO MEET The next Michiana Head Injury Support Group meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 14, and again on Thursday, May 28, at 7:00 p.m. The meetings will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, located at 805 S. 29th Street, South Bend.
