and family on Easter Sunday with a bontiful carry-in dinner. Their granddaughter, Mrs. Jeff Blum, of Spout Lake, lowa, arrived Friday to spend the Easter weekend. Other guests were present from Warsaw, New Carlisle, Valparaiso, Plymouth, North Liberty and Walkerton. Thirty-one children enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt over at the Chritsmas Tree Farm. They all enjoyed seeing a big horned owl up in a tree while hunting their Easter eggs. Beatrice Sheneman was taken from the hospital in South Bend to Miller’s Merry Manor nursing home in Walkerton last Monday where she is improving every day which is good news. Dorothy Reed and Pearl Newcomb spent the weekend with Dick and Lillian Reed, in Three Oaks, Michigan. They celebrated Dorothy’s birthday on Saturday. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wessick and daughter, Cassie, of Marshall, Michigan; and Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Reed, of Valparaiso. Easter Sunday guests at Mr. and Mrs. Alan Kaser's were Alan Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shipley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kaser, from Earlsville, Illinois, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kaser. Jennifer Stewart, daughter of Tim and Sherry Stewart, underwent surgery last Wednesday at Shriners Hospital, in Chicago, and came home on Friday, but she still needs our prayers for a speedy recovery. Easter dinner guests of Ethel Rauen were Travis and Joan Holmes, Ethel Holmes, Mike Holmes, of Mishawaka, and Kari Williams and son Evan, of Crete, Illinois. Susie Teter, of Mishawaka, Theda Carlson, of South Bend, and Gene and Norma Patrick were dinner guests of Gladys Sheneman on Easter. Easter dinner guests of George and Wilda Henry were Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Kronk, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Limerick and family, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fair and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Henry and family. Norma Patrick is in Memorial Hospital where she underwent surgery Monday morning. Please remember her. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kaser were very pleasantly surprised with an anniversary dinner given by their son, Alan and wife Millie. They even saw their name up in lights on the Holiday Inn sign in Plymouth. Ihey received corsages and lovely gifts including corsages hearts made by their granddaughter Anita Shipley for being able to put up with each other for 65 years. The guests were Alan, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shipley and family, from Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kaser, Earlyville, Illinois; Mrs. Mary Reamschnyder and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ritter, from South Bend. A delicious buffet and lovely decorated cake was served. Kim and Claudia Stuber entertained 11 friends of their daughter Kristin on Saturday afternoon with an Easter party for her and her friends. Those present were Mary Groves, Sara Craft, Philip Beasley, Melissa Newcomb, all neighbors, and from LaPorte were Stephanie Parthun, Erin Sanders, Deana and Larry Welsh and Terese Kriefels. and games after which they were served cake and ice cream before returning home. The Croy family met at the home of Steve and Joanne Rudynski, with 24 members present to enjoy Easter dinner together. Flora Hough spent Easter Sunday with her daughter, Joyce, and her husband, Robert Huff, in South Bend. Warren Walmer, Sumption Prairie United Methodist; James Fisko, United Religious Community; Sherry and Robert Stafford, First Brethren, Teegarden; David Menefee and Bert Pauluhn, St. John’s Lutheran Church; Shelley Anderson and Carol Pauluhn entertained with a flute solo. It was a very inspiring program. The free will offering taken was given to the Hope Rescue Mission. It was a great day Easter Sunday out at the Church of Christ with 195 attending the Easter Sunrise Service and then enjoying the breakfast prepared by Tom Fair and his helpers. Over 500 attended the morning worship service and heard the cantata “The Sacrifice Os Glory’’, under the direction of Wilda Henry, after which Brother Charles Richmond gave a message on “Victory Over Death’’.
