The remaining funds, if any, would be used to purchase trash bins and benches for the downtown area. The president asked for the name of someone interested in chairing the fall Pumpkin Festival Committee. A planning session followed. Its purpose was to ensure widespread publicity, communication and opportunity for the public to meet all the candidates and acquaint themselves with the individual candidate’s position on various issues.
