How do I apply for these entitlements and where do I turn when experiencing problems with obtaining veterans medical care? Constantly changing federal requirements are now divided into two categories, discretionary and mandatory. The VA must provide in-patient hospital services to those veterans classified in the mandatory category. Mandatory care includes veterans with service connected disabilities, former POW’s, veterans in receipt of VA pension and Spanish American War veterans, veterans of the Mexican Border Period and World War I veterans. Any veteran experiencing quality care problems at any VA Medical Center should attempt to resolve the problem as soon as it occures. If the discussion with the VA doctor or VA staff member does not resolve the problem, contact the VA patient representative. R.E.A.L. SERVICES WALKERTON Coming attractions are Verle

We also are looking forward to another blood pressure clinic in the near future. Remember we play cards every Tuesday and Thursday afternoons after the meals. If you don’t care for cards, stay anyway for fellowship or make your own fun by bringing along a favorite table game. Eight people from the nursing home joined us on Friday. Among them were Bess Ferverda, Martha Mull, Woody Cochran and Dean Knowlton. All four were always in attendance and took part in REAL Services and we’re always happy to welcome them back. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone For a part of us went with you The day God called you home. He saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be He closed his arms around you And whispered come to me. For all you went through He saw you needed rest, God’s garden must be beautiful For he only picks the best.
