Fifth graders at North Liberty Elementary thoroughly enjoyed a presentation by Miss Jeneane Kwiatkowski, of Indiana University, of South Bend. Miss Kwiatkowski brought artifacts ranging from animal pelts to candle molds. Students enthusiastically played with colonial toys and examined typical clothing worn by pioneer children. Realizing the hardships pioneers faced making much of what they needed to survive, the students participated in what would have been one such job. Dental Care Taught To Pre-Schoolers

learning process. Students also enjoy going on field trips to view court proceedings and to tour law enforcement facilities. Speakers have been scheduled to present programs which follow the series of planned activities. The first speaker in the series was Dick Nussbaum, attorney for the city of South Bend. Mr Nussbaum's topic was the legislative process on all levels: federal, state, and local. He discussed how laws are made and what effect these laws have on the community. He fielded some exceptional questions from the fifth grade students on the law and what effect it has on them. His presentation was not only educational, but had great impact on the fifth grade students.
