GEORGE W. JACKSON George W. Jackson, 49, of 205 N. Lafayette Street, North Liberty, passed away at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after an illness. He was born on July 29, 1942, in South Bend and lived in North Liberty for 16 years coming from South Bend. He married Deborah E. Rousculp, who survives. He was a former employee with Boise Cascade for seven years and for 17 years worked at Torrington. Also surviving are a daughter, Toni Rogers, of Smyrna, Tennessee; two sons, John, of San Antonio, Texas, and T. J., at home; a stepson, Kevin Foster, of South Bend; two grandchildren; his parents, John and Florence Jackson, of South Bend; two sisters, Joan Strozewski and Lois Strasser, both of South Bend; and a brother, Jim, of South Bend. Services were held at 11:00. a.m. on Monday at the North Liberty Church of Christ, of which he was a member, with Rev. Charles Richmond, officiating. Burial was in Eastlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. He was a member of Toastmasters Club, a coach for North Liberty Youth League, North Liberty Town Board member from 1987 to 1990. an Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 365. The A. M. Manuel Funeral Home, North Liberty, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or American Cancer Society. DONALD L. HADLEY Donald L. Hadley, 56, of Lawrence Drive, Walkerton, passed away at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after an illness. He was born on June 23, 1935, in Peoris, Illinois, and had lived in Walkerton for four years coming from South Bend. He married Anna Kelley on February 12, 1955, in Lakeville, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Susan L. Hadley, of Walkerton; three sons, Thomas L., of Monticello, David L, of Kenosha, Wis., and James L., of South Bend; five grandchildren; two sisters, Diana Gardner, of Mishawaka, and Nancy Butchko, of Alexandria, Virginia; and his father, Virgil L. Hadley, of Mentone. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, South Bend with burial in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Cancer Society. LLOYD V. THOMAS Lloyd V. Thomas, 89, of County Road 1075, Walkerton, passed away at 11:04 p.m., in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, on Tuesday, Feb. 25. He was born on Sept. 10, 1902, in Morocco, Ind. and lived in Walkerton most of his life. On Sept. 8, 1937 he married Gertrude Alice Ginter, who survives. He was a retired farmer. Also surviving are a son, Donald L., of Walkerton and a grandson, Twin granddaughters preceded him in death. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, Walkerton with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. He was a member of Walkerton Masonic Lodge 619, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, Hamlet Lions Club, LaPorte Farm Bureau, LaPorte County Row Crop Farmers Association, American Angus Cattlemens Association, American Murray Grey Cattle Association, National Suffolk Sheep Association, was a charter member of Johnson Township Sportsmen’s Club and served on the Johnson Township Advisory Board for 44 years. sociation. JERRY L. WHITMER Jerry Lee Whitmer, 54, of Naples. Florida, formerly of Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday in his home of natural causes. He was born on Dec. 15, 1937, in Green Township, Marshall County. He moved to Naples 11 years ago from Plymouth. He married Donna J. Pittman, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Diane Schrader, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Debra Stout, of Lakeland, Fla., Denise Nibelink, of Plymouth and Michelle Whitmer, of Tampa, Fla.; three sons, Terry, of Ocala, Fla., Jeff, of Plymouth andd Tony, of Fort Myers, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; his mother, Dora Whitmer, of North Liberty; four sisters and four brothers. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at East Naples Baptist Church with burial in Naples Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held at a later date, at the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, North Liberty. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Naples, 850 Sixth Ave., N. WILLOWDEENE DAUBE Willowdeene Honaday Dau be, of 978 9th St., Plainwell, Michigan, formerly of Walkerton, died at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, in Kalamazoo, Michi can, after an illness. She was retired employee of Parker Hannifin after being employed for 18 years. She was also a member of St. Margaret’s Church of Ostego and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Walkerton. She was bom September 30, 1928, in Bourbon to William and Marie (Reynolds) Homaday. Surviving are one daughter, Marla Augustine, of Plainwell, Michigan; two sons, Douglas, of Walkerton, and Vint, of Austin, Texas; and six grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Marie, her father, William, and by her brother, Gerald Hornaday. There was no visitation or service and cremation has taken place. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Margaret’s Church of Otsego, Michigan. Arrangement were made by Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, Michigan. ESTHER I. CLARK Esther I. Clark, 76, of Fish Lake, passed away at 1:03 p.m. on Thursday, February 27 in the home of her daughter, Peggy J. Piotrowicz, of Fish Lake. She was bora on March 9, 1915, in Union Center. She had lived at Fish Lake for most of her life. She married Paul T. Clark on February 25, 1950, who preceded her in death December 11, 1991. Surviving along with her daughter are four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Johnson, of Fish Lake; and three brothers, Lloyd "Bud” Whitmer, of New Buffalo, Mich., Lloyd Whitmer, of Lakeview, Mich., and Lee Whitmer, of Anderson. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the First United Methodist Church, LaPorte, of which she was a member, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. She was a member of the Fish Lake Conservation Club, Fish Lake Property Owners Association and American Legion Post 400 Auxiliary. She was formerly employed at Howmet Corp., LaPorte, and Plas/Steel, Walkerton. CATHERINE M. CISNEY Catherine M. Cuney, 67, of St. Joseph Care Center-Morningside, South Bend, formerly of 27850 Stanton Road, Walkerton, passed •way at 8:17 p.m., on Tu^aday,

Feb. 25, at the nursing home. She was born on December 21, 1924, in St. Joseph County and lived in Walkerton most of her life. As Catherine Gensinger she married James Cisney on Nov. 10, 1945. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1987. Surviving are five daughters, Aretta Gushwa, of South Bend, Jeanette Maples, of Roselie, DI., Bunnie Rimbaugh, of Stillwell, Diane Kime, of North Liberty and Karen Quinlivan, of Indianapolis; three sons, Darrell, of North Lberty, James Jr., of Walkerton and Tim, of South Bend and 11 grandchildren. A son, Stewart, preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1947. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. i on Friday in Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, North Liberty, of which she was a member, with burial in Fair Cemetery, North Liberty. MILLS William Warren Mills, 69, of • Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, formerly of Walkerton, passed 1 away at 6:50 p.m. on Monday, ' March 2, in the nursing home. He was bora on November 18, 1922, in French Lick. He married Bernice M. Brown on May 19, 1949, in Shoals, who survives. He retired as the owner/operator of the former Mills Heating & Air Conditioning, Walkerton. Also surviving are three daughters, Nrma Hamilton, of Dorset, Ohio, Becky Brown, of Brookston, and Cindy Moon, of Walkerton; three step-daughters, Judy Walker and Carol J. Green, both of Sellersburg and Mary Beth Lakshmanan, of New Canaan, Conn.; two sons, Robert, of Osceola, and Mark, of Mishawaka; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday in Morris Cemetery, Teegarden. There will be no visitation. The Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, Walkerton, is in charge of the arrangements. He was a veteran of World War 11, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2852, Brookston Masonic Lodge 66 and Schottish Rite Valley of South Bend.
