Catherine Capek and David DeMan were united in marriage at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, in Plymouth, on October 19th. Father David Voon officiated. Barbara Lowry was the organist. Mary and Michael Kell, the sister and a brother-in-law of the bride, were the vocalists. The bride, given away by her father, wore a beaded satin and lace gown with a dropped waist with a sweetheart neckline, a low back with draped pearls, and a full train of ruffles and lace bows. She wore a beaded headpiece and veil with blusher. The bride carried a bouquet of fall flowers.

The maid-of-honor was WendyMedlin and the matron-of-honor was Mary Beth Kell, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mindy Behmdt, Jennifer Holmes and Cindi Capek and Lisa Capek, sister-in-law of the bride. The flower girl was Jessica Pasztor. The maid and matron of honor wore teal street-length suits with v-neck and lace collar and peplum over a straight skirt and matching hats. The bridesmaids wore matching suits and hats in peach. The attendants carried cascading flower arrangements of white lilies and roses. The best man was Jeff DeMars,
brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Jim Kizemka, Rick Dravet, Mike Mose, Rich Pasztor and Joe Capek, brother of the bride. Ushers were John Sabo, David Hille and Wayne Capek, brother of the bride. The ring bearer was Andrew Kell, nephew of the bride. After a carriage ride through the park, the bride and groom entertained 300 guests at the Knights of Columbus Hall, in Plymouth. The bride, the daughter of Wayne and Mary Capek, Plymouth, is a 1986 graduate of John Glenn High School and graduated from Purdue University in 1990, with a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering. She is employed by Dow Chemical Company, in Findlay, Ohio, as a project engineer and site environmental and waste reduction coordinator. The groom, the son of David and Barbara DeMars, Crown Point, graduated from Andrean High School, in Merrillville and is a 1989 graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor of arts degree in industrial design and technical graphics. He is employed by Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, Findlay, Ohio, as a designer. After a two-week honeymoon to the Hawaiian Islands, the couple is at home in Findlay, Ohio. 4-H ENROLLMENT TUESDAY, FEBURARY 18 On Tuesday, February 18, the Lincoln Township 4-H Club will hold its first meeting for 1992. We will be signing up between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Walkerton Youth Building. There is something for everyone. Youngsters from 3 to 7 may join Cover Buds. Those Bto 9 years old have Mini 4-H. And then, there is traditional 4-H for those between the ages of 10 and 19. Anyone having any questions concerning the meeting can call Yvonne Pierce at 586-3380. UREY CITIZENSHIP AWARD WINNERS
The Citizenship award winners for January at Urey Middle School are Cassie Walter and John Murnane. Cassie is the daughter of Tom and Debra Walter, Rural Route 3, Box 5, Walkerton. She is a seventh grade student and her favorite subjects are Pre-Algebra and Study Hall. Cassie's hobbies are participating in basketball and cheerleading. John is the son of Frank and Charlotte Sniadecki, 610 Pine Street, North Liberty. He is an eighth grade student and his favorite subjects are Reading and Art. BIRTHS Len and Susan Jaskc, Walkerton, are the proud parents of a baby girl, Emily Michelle, bom on Monday, February 3, at the LaPorte Hospital. She weighed in at six pounds and 11 ounces.
