psychology. Kelli now works in a bank in Chesterton while Tim works on his rehabilitation at the Duneland YMCA. They have a daughter, Hannah Grace who is two years old. Tim had been learning how to read and do math with the help of tutors at the Westchester Public Library. He said. "It’s bizarre to have to learn all over again." Prior to his working out at the Y he learned to operate the computer there doing data entry as a volunteer. This is where he met Bea Hackett, who is in charge of the Nautilus program. Hackett was convinced that Tim could work out and make progress on the Nautilus to strengthen his muscles. One of Tim's goals is to walk without his cane. Since working out at the Y he has been able to go short distances without the cane and he can even vacuum the carpet at home without the cane. When he first started to work out he couldn't lift the overhead press. The first session he lifted the weights of the machines only one time and now he can lift seven pounds with 12 repetitions. Keep up the good work, Tim. POT LUCK DINNER The Koontz Lake Conservation Gub will hold a pot luck dinner, on Saturday evening, at the clubhouse beginning at 6:00 p.m. Come and bring your friends.

COMMANDER’S CORNER When was the last time you wrote your congressman? Do you have the address of your congressman on file so you could write to him? Comrades, if we are going to get the ear of our representatives in Washington, we must "speak'' with a louder voice, all together. The same applies to state and local issues. Secretary Derwinski of the Veterans Administration wants to put non-veterans in our VA medical centers to the exclusion of veterans. Are you going to let this happen? How do you propose to stop it? A good first step is to write to your congressman. Why are our congressmen so insensitive to veterans issues? Why would one representative from Indiana vote opposite of the view of a majority of his constituents? The reason is that when the American Legion speaks, it speaks in a whisper. We don't march on Washington, or picket our courthouses. We don’t advocate civil disobedience. Write your congressman.
